Schlittz & Giggles — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

We are in town visiting and decided to come here for dinner. We sat upstairs. We waited while one of the staff members cleaned our table for us to sit. He then proceeded to clear several other dirty tables around us, pulling the trash bin along from table to table, carrying dirty cups, plates, trash, etc. He then came to ask us what we wanted for drinks. His hands and fingernails were really dirty. I watched him walk downstairs straight to the drinks station and grab cups without washing his hands. He then came back upstairs and took our order. I was already utterly disgusted and did not order anything for myself. He then went downstairs and grabbed a slice of pizza from a pizza box in the warmer and started eating. Still did not wash his hands. He ate in the corner, then walked over and continued eating and chewing his food over the area where they were preparing pizzas. When he was done eating, (still had not washed his hands), he started PREPARING pizzas (had his hands on the dough, cheese, toppings)!! Never saw this guy wash his hands nor did he bother to wear gloves (all the other employees that were preparing pizzas had on gloves except one girl). Disgusting is an understatement. I sat at my table so livid and disgusted. The dishwasher also had his whole ass hanging out of his pants; he washed dishes with gloves on then proceeded to handle food without changing his gloves. My family ordered two solo pizzas, which also took forever. The place was empty. We sat down at 8:10 and our two solo pizzas were brought to our table at 9:00. 50 minutes of observing so many food safety violations. This place needs...

We walked into the Perkins location and should have walked out right away. After standing there like weirdos waiting for someone to greet us (it wasn’t busy at all!), our experience went down hill after that. Waited awhile for someone to get us drinks, once they finally arrived they were warm and had stuff floating in them. After fishing out the “floatys” and accessing what it was, we concluded it was the “goopy’s” from a unclean ice machine. They tried a couple more drinks and we ended up just not drinking anything. We tried to nicely let the waitress know to cancel our order and we decided on something else for supper and she said the order was already in, so we felt bad leaving and stayed. We ordered Nachos (which were mostly burnt, stuck to tin foil on a pan, where you had to search for the teaspoon of sausage they actually included on them, but they were okay) and knots. We pulled apart the uncooked nots and decided that we were done there and going elsewhere was a better idea and asked for our bill. (Especially since we were all still thirsty) We got our bill and they actually CHARGED US $9 for the cokes we didn’t even take sips out of because of the nasty floatys! Been in LA for 9 years and have wanted to try this place and we were super disappointed. Board of health needs to make a visit and the run down looking restaurant needs some TLC! But! Our waitress was friendly, once we figured out who it actually was, and she took off our cokes after we addressed it, so that’s good I guess. INTERESTING.....(punctuation is not my specialty) Decided I would call an order in to avoid some wait time, uh-uh. It took me 9min 12sec to get there and that is how long I was on hold, in addition to being hung up. I made the presumption that they were really busy 🤣🤣🤣. NOPE! Made my way in and at the podium was the Mgr? GM? RM? (She did assist in the kitchen) IDK. Expressed my concerns and said she would address, it was said only to inform. Asked if I wanted to eat in or to go, I decided to stay. The young lady answered the phone was at the bar with ONE CUSTOMER..... Moving along, of the 5 booths there were 3 filled and two tables on the patio. 2 ppl on the oven. My waiter Marcel VERY NICE young man, third day at work. He was doing everything in his power to accommodate. I ordered GARLIC KNOTS (to my taste buds could have used a bit more garlic) when I ordered my beverage, they arrived over 40 mins later, they forgot to make. (Marcel continued to check up on me). Only one or two ovens were working at the time, idk. I ordered the "Rustico" w/substitution and that came out 12 mins after that. I ❤ a thin crust but this was RIDICULOUS (you know it is so thin that you CANNOT pick it up) my pizza was also made incorrectly. In the end they gave me 25% off my order. I was not upset (surprisingly), truly disappointed. I understand lack of assistance during the pandemic but that didnt seem like the case. They was no sense of urgency.
