⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mike Anderson’s Seafood on West Lee Drive has been a cornerstone for my family’s dining experiences for years, and for good reason—it’s simply that good! While there was a period (years ago) when the quality wavered a bit, they quickly turned things around and came back stronger than ever. Atmosphere & Service The lively atmosphere and phenomenal wait staff make dining here a joy. My absolute favorite server is Dawn—she works during the week (not weekends) and is super attentive. She takes such great care of us when we’re seated in her section. If you visit, try to snag the table right in front of the fireplace in the first main dining room. That spot adds a cozy charm to the experience that can’t be beat. The Food Mike Anderson’s seafood is some of the freshest Gulf seafood you’ll find in South Louisiana. It never disappoints! I confess, I’m a creature of habit here, and my go-to choices are consistently stellar: • Appetizer: The Onion Rings are a must! They arrive as a picture-perfect pyramid on their signature distressed silver fish-shaped plate—crispy, thick, and delicious. • Entrée: I always opt for the Fried Catfish. Whether whole or filleted, it’s a guaranteed treat for your taste buds. Years ago, they had an unbeatable deal called “The ACE” (All You Can Eat) for whole fried catfish. It was a feast like no other, though you couldn’t take any to-go. Sadly, inflation has since retired this incredible offering, but it remains a fond memory of mine. And let’s not forget their Strawberry Daiquiri—served in a New Orleans-style Pat O’Brien’s hurricane glass, topped with whipped cream and a cherry. While it’s intended for onsite enjoyment, if you ask nicely, they may surprise you with a to-go cup for the remainder of your sweet treat. Special Features Mike Anderson’s is a family-friendly spot where celebrations abound. Their Side Porch is perfect for private or corporate parties, complete with its own bar area to keep the drinks flowing. I’ve attended several events there, and while these gatherings can slow the kitchen down slightly for the rest of the diners, the staff always manages to handle it with grace. Extras Worth Mentioning Their house-made Ranch Dressing deserves a spotlight of its own. It’s so good that I’ve started buying jars to keep at home! Packaged in a charming mason jar, it’s ready to hit your fridge and elevate your salads. Final Thoughts Whenever out-of-town friends ask me for dining recommendations in Baton Rouge, Mike Anderson’s is always my top suggestion. Between the fresh seafood, stellar service, and inviting atmosphere, it’s a place you’ll fall in love with and want to return to again and again. Don’t miss out—this is South Louisiana dining at its finest!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!!!! Magnifying glass is needed to eat at this establishment due to fine print of "All sales final" I visited this restaurant in hopes of a delicious southern meal and at the end of the night I was greeted with a rude, sarcastic floor manager Michael Pearl who didn't know his own menu. I ordered several things one of which being the shrimp spinach and artichoke dip. When the dip came out it was very watery in texture with no creamy consistency and there were no shrimp present to the naked eye. I tried about 3 bites and just could not take the liquidity of the dish. I asked for this item to be taken off my ticket because I could not stomach it. I was greeted by the floor manager and inquired into the absence of shrimp in my dish and also the reason why the dish wasn't creamy in consistency to a normal artichoke dip. He sarcastically and rudely informed me that all sales were final and asked if I read the menu because the menu stated that the shrimp was puréed into the dish (this was not at all on the menu as I showed him and he proceeded to state that all sales were final anyway.) and that they use velveeta cheese instead of cream cheese in the dish. I informed him that artichoke dip was one of my favorite dishes and I would like for him to take this off the menu because it just was not a good taste. What started as a great experience turned very sour in a matter of minutes. I feel that this could have been easily rectified due to the misleading description of the dish and the fact that the dish mimics more a cream of Spanish side than actual spinach and artichoke dip. Even if all sales are final the sarcastic demeanor and rude undertones were totally unnecessary and unprovoked. Unfortunately, I will not be visiting the restaurant anymore and hope they train Mr. Michael Pearl on respect and proper service etiquette. My waiter Madison was amazing!! Big props to her, unfortunately her greatness was over shadowed by her manager!!!

Stopped by Andersons to try the food looks delicious right ? WRONG! the only thing edible on this plate was the fish fillet notice how I said edible because it wasn’t good it was flavorless and overcooked the stuffed bell pepper’s rice was mushy and tasted disgusting everything “stuffed “ on my plate (the crab mushroom shrimp oyster ) all had the same disgusting stuffing that I couldn’t take more than one bite of each , the shrimp was so nasty I had to force myself to finish the one bite I took of it the seafood chowder or whatever it was tasted like throw up I couldn’t even finish the one bite I took the only think I could eat was the baked potato on the side . Considering I only took small bites out of each item to taste I politely asked the manager was their anyway to send it back and get something different or just take it off the ticket to which he told us that we couldn’t we had to pay for food we couldn’t eat “you should be careful ab what you order “ he said.. for your menus to come with a warning is a huge red flag 🚩if you have to put a desclaimer on your menu that you probably might not like your food so be careful with what you order they know their food is trash I should HAVE KNOWN the food was going to be trash ! And had the nerve to offer a Togo plate i had to laugh in his face I wouldn’t even waste my time packing that up and taking it home knowing it would meet the trash a soon as I walked through the door terrible food terrible manager very nice waitress 0/10 would NOT recommend

We went this past Father’s Day (6/17/18). We aren’t from here but from online reviews we noticed this place had pretty decent reviews therefore I wanted to take my husband there while we were in town since it was Father’s Day. When we arrived (a little after 2pm) the hostess was very nice and informed us that there would be a 45-1 hour wait. We understood 100% especially with it being Father’s Day. The hostess informed us we were able to sit at the bar with no wait so we decided to do so. The atmosphere was ok, the bartender was nice-pretty prompt in getting our orders after he helped out a few other people first. We received our fried alligator pretty quick but from here it goes down hill. We waited 55+ minutes for our entree only after voicing our concerns. Here is where my issue lies, people who came in after us and ordered after us received their food waaay before us. I asked the waiter at the bar about it and he brushed me off saying that the reason why our food took so long is because my husband ordered a burger and everything the other couple ordered was fried. Ok, but could someone come out and explain and say something instead of ignoring the fact that we still had not received our food in almost an hour when others had received theirs? When I voiced my concern by now I was ready to go and my husband and I had lost my appetite and I informed the waiter that we did not want the food and would just pay for what we had he once again brushed me off saying the food was coming and walked off. If I did not want the food after waiting almost an hour and tell you I do not want the food then respect my decision and do what I ask as the customer. But what amazes me even more is that as soon as we voiced our concern less than 5 minutes later our food was ready and served. Coincidence? My advice, respect the customers decisions first and foremost and never brush them off as if what they say is irrelevant, second-if it is true that our food took almost an hour because we were waiting on my husband’s burger then communicate that well with your customers instead of ignoring them. Sadly, I am huge about first impressions and this did not sit well with me. As for the food my husband said his burger was fairly 7/10 ok but the platter I had was not at all- 4/10. The catfish was ok 6/10 but the only enjoyable food was the fried gator! We left with our food in to go plates. We won’t be back when we are in the...

Went to Mike Anderson's for lunch with my mom. Everything was fine until we received salty chargrilled oysters. The rest of our food was fine, but the oysters were not edible because they were too salty. We got the server to ask for more. He came back with suggestions like "they could hose them off and redo them." They suggested RECOOKING the oysters! The manager comes over and says that my mother could have high blood pressure or her taste buds could be off as the reason why they were salty to her. He blamed us rather than taking responsibility for the food his kitchen put out being unsatisfactory. They were salty to me as well. So after diagnosing a medical condition he calls the police because we refuse to pay for not only food we weren't eating, but food that wasn't good and that he wasn't willing to fix properly. The leg he stands on is the clause at the bottom of the menu that says "all sales are final." In my opinion it should be final when you give me a product worth paying for. This is upsetting because we frequent the restaurant quite often and it is(was) one of my favorite restaurants. This manager needs to be reprimanded for his horrible customer service. He is costing the restaurant way more than what those oysters were worth. To me they know their food wasn't up to par so they uphold this policy to combat the food waste cost. Anyone dining there should be aware of this policy if they choose to dine with them. Bad food happens, but not being willing to properly rectify the situation is problematic. We were forced to pay for food we did not eat nor enjoy. The oysters were left on the table. After we did a report with the police, we paid the FULL bill and tipped the server. The manager knew there was something wrong with the food because he had the cook make him an oyster with a new topping on it. The cook literally brought it to him in front of us then he walked him back for us to not see what he was doing. He was blatantly wrong. The manager decided to flex his power and ban us from the restaurant. We weren't planning to come back, but his actions were unwarranted. The...
