Podnuh's BBQ — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

Not sure if this is for the Sherwood location or the Florida location since I visited both locations today - not by choice. So I'll talk about both. The Sherwood location has been a hot mess for quite some time and seems to be going further downhill every time I visit. Today I came to get some BBQ for lunch for the wife and I. It was maybe 15 till noon on this Sunday. As I rolled in towards the drive thru it looked like a couple of employees were standing by the side entrance and one was on the phone outside by the drive thru menu. So I get to the order area. Nothing. Waited for almost 5 minutes still nothing. Still I waited because although this is a long time to wait to order at a drive thru it is not unusual for this place. Still after watching another car waiting behind me i decided to do the same. Probably a good 7 minutes of my life I'll never get back. I don't understand how this place stays in business. On top of that I guess they can't afford to repair their menu board at the drive thru at either location so they have a printed out copy of a menu on a standard size piece of paper so you can't read it from your car. What you can actually read is a big sign that says orders will not be taken at the window so do not drive to the window, lol. What a joke. Unless I know what I'm getting already I have to pull up their menu on my phone. I would really prefer to go to pretty much any other BBQ place but my wife really likes their potato salad for some reason. The Florida location at least has better customer service although today it took 10 minutes of waiting in the drive thru menu before they took my order. I'll give them a pass for that because they at least had an excuse because you could tell they were super busy. least I got...

This was our second time coming to this place and our last time because number one we paid 26.00 for two plates of food and only was able to eat the meat really .. the potato salad was too salty the bbq sauce was watered down.. the portion of the meat was not enough to feed a child to be honest.. it just wasn’t worth the money we paid.. we could have went down to Sonny’s and the food would have tasted better and to top it off the atmosphere was a cold attitude from each person I came into contact with.. and the final thing is the man in the green shirt who spoke to me seemed nice except not to his employees and that’s what makes their attitudes not so nice so I don’t blame them for any of this I blame the man in the green shirt.. he needs to learn how to treat the employees and I don’t know if he is the owner or just the manager but u need to do better sir and then your business will be better oh and the beans were watery too.. it just wasn’t worth it...

Its good place to get lunch. Its a BBQ place so lots of meat, and sides like baked veans, patato salad, pulled pork, brisket, and chicken. Its kind of a weird setup. You go to a serving line, and pick your meat. A guy cuts you portion of the meat you choose. You have to serve the sides yourself with ice cream scoops.

They have signs displayed saying that if your self-served portion size is larger than normal you get charged an extra $0.45. I got beans, patato salad, and a small scoop of banana pudding so I did not good charged.

The food tastes good, its not amazing. I asked for pulled pork, and I think I got a brisket by accident.
