Serop's Café — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

I am extremely grateful for the pristine service I received at serops. I went eat with a few girlfriends and I met Sami. He came up to the table to make sure we enjoyed the food and we were receiving excellent service, he was so kind and made sure our experience was impeccable. The food was so exquisite that I asked him to cater my rehearsal dinner. All the detail he put into making our experience feel over the top including the service and the serving dishes. Everyone asked me what catering business I used and I was more than happy to recommend serops and gave them Sami's number. The chicken shawarma and gyros was so moist with a little crisp on the outside, the hummus was absolute perfection, the baba was mouth watering, and the grape leaves were a personal favorite along with the baklava. I had so many more dishes, I have to say nothing compares to the food at serops! If anyone wants to have dinner with their family or needs catering for an event, I highly highly recommend Sami. Since then Sami has been a personal friend of mine, now I would say I consider him family! He puts love in every dish and goes out his way to make every experience the best for every customer. I walked in after an appointment to be greeted by pleasant but efficient service and ended up ordering the lobster ravioli. And let me assure you, there is no weak component of this surprisingly affordable dish. Ravioli stuffed with lobster covered in a rich creamy sauce that you can taste the essence of the lobster in. The sauce alone made me want to shed a tear out of joy, and they know how good it is which is why they supply pita bread on the side so that none of it is wasted. Supplimented with a simplistic ceasar salad and steamed green beans to compliment the dish, the lobster ravioli is a perfect dish to order from this place.

The only weak point i noticed about the restaurant is that they don't serve ouzo. But I'm certain most people in louisiana are not concerned...

I like the food it is delicious! It’s hot made to order with fresh ingredients. Not mention healthy! However, the service is poor I was not greeted upon entry. The customers that came in after me were acknowledged and seated before me. I was basically ignored until I spoke up and said can I please order. The servers were not attentive or pleasant. I ordered and paid for my food, she didn’t even let me know how long it would take for my food to be prepared, before she just walked off. The aesthetics of the restaurant is very rich in culture, it gives the experience of sitting in another country. I enjoy their food and will be back but the service needs to...
