We were out running errands and the pang of hunger reminded us that we had not eaten breakfast. Following a brief stop at the Asian Mart, we proceeded to Teriyaki Tiger, which was conveniently located nearby. The estimated wait time for our call-in order was 18 minutes. My husband arrived 5 minutes after placing the order and found that it was ready for pickup, enabling a quick in-and-out experience.
This establishment proudly proclaimed on its website, 'Extraordinary specialty, authentic taste carefully selects the freshest ingredients and serving traditional Japanese culinary skills to satisfy your taste buds.' After driving by it numerous times, we decided to indulge in one traditional, authentic Japanese item from their menu, eager to experience the epitome of culinary excellence.
Marvin Gaye sang 'What's Going On?' So, let me describe what's going on at Teriyard Tiger, located at 11228 Florida Blvd... absolutely nothing. Because when it comes to authentic Japanese dumplings, they are not being served here. The perfectly crispy looking machine-made dumplings looked crispy, but tasted like eating a flavorless frisbee.
As someone who shelled out $12.13 bucks for two orders of dumplings, I expected to get the real deal, not some pre-made, pre-frozen impostors. The filling was basically just cabbage with some mystery meat that might've been pork, but I'm not convinced.
And don't even get me started on the soy sauce - it was like they tried to recreate Japanese flavors, but ended up with something that tasted like it belonged in a bad 80s movie. Here's a tip: just use Kikkoman like a normal person.
Several reviewers are praising this establishment, but my initial experience with their dumplings was underwhelming. The cost of dining out has skyrocketed across the USAs and menu prices keep climbing. Wasting my coin on mediocre food is not an option so as the adage goes, you only get one chance to make a first impression.
Unfortunately, they failed to impress by serving frozen food, which raises concerns about the freshness and quality of their offerings. This experience has led me to question the authenticity of their claims. Consequently, sticking to my one time resolution I will not be giving them a second chance unless someone else...
Read moreEvery time I see this establishment, I say to myself that I want to try it. Well, today, I walked into the Teriyaki Tiger and ordered my 1st meal from the menu. Upon entering, there were other patrons eating and waiting for their food. Therefore, I immediately became ecstatic because of the heavy foot traffic; it was Friday, March 29, 2024, around 2 o'clock in the evening. I grabbed a menu and stepped outside the door to give it a once-over to see if the items offered and pictures of the various dish possibilities tugged at my intestines. Aha, I was drawn in by the pictures and the LOW PRICES. Man, I immediately grappled between choices. I decided to reenter the building and get #5 (Teriyaki Chicken & Shrimp). But, something got a hold on me, and before I was done, I had also ordered the Spicy Salmon Roll ( fresh, fresh, fresh, there should be a law against something soooo good), and an order of Shrimp Fried Rice (the size of the 🍤 ya'll, was surprisingly big). As you can tell, I was pleased with everything I ordered. I got a few extras here-and-there, and my total was still under $35.00. When I got home and my family and I began to give it a taste, to say the least, we enjoyed every bite. Every dish was cooked to perfection, and the Treiyaki Tiger will see me/us again soon and often. My ticket had Leah as my server. Thank you very much, ti Ms. Leah and the other employees that were that shift. They were friendly, courteous, and thanked me for my patronage. Sorry, I usually take pictures before partaking of my meal, but the aroma and esthetics of the food were so appetizing that we immediately dug in....
Read moreTHIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I got their Chicken Bento Box, and I was immediately in love. This meal not only being very affordable but is also very delicious- having: Chicken, fried rice (or white/noodles), 4 California rolls, 3 dumplings, and a salad- a whole meal for literally $10.99!! Service very friendly and just overall kind, the place is a bit small, and looks new. The place has an aroma of the food being cooked fills the place making me hungrier as i waited lol (which wasn't a long time). I will say their drink selection is lacking only having plastic bottled Coke product, but i’m there for food, not drinks. Same could go for the decor, only having minimalistic style tables and chairs, nothing standing out for decor. Overall a nice atmosphere, stellar food, and pretty easy menu to follow. I’ll be coming here a ton when i’m at this side of town. Loved it!! (Sorry for bad...
