Checkers — Restaurant in Battle Creek

Went to checkers 4-19-20 at 3:30pm on a Sunday. My husband ordered a plain only ketchup and normal cheese. No nacho cheese sauce bacon-zilla double combo with a small sprite and asked if they could swap out the fries for a 4 piece cheese stick and a spicy chicken sandwich with a half pound of just chicken bites no sauce with a small chocolate banana shake. The gal tells us our total and to pull forward. We get to the window they take my card and hand us our drinks. The shake is just banana but we were run up of chocolate which wasent what we even asked for. Then we get our food and I look inside and there were no cheese sticks so we tell the gal, she tried to make it right by getting me a six piece cheese stick but I opened my burger and realize that’s not right either and it has the nacho cheese sauce everywhere so I ask my husband to have them remake it as it’s a $20 meal we’re paying for they oblique but not until after a laugh and smirk of annoyance. I then get my burger right and my cheese stick right and she asks me for any sauce and I said just for the cheese sticks so she gives me one cup for the 6 piece she gave me even thought I only requested a 4 piece. After driving down the meijer my husband realizes she’s shake was wrong so he drove back and dropped it off at your drop off window letting a separate employee know it was wrong as she rolls her eyes and shuts the window. Terrible service. Will not ever go back. I appreciate them trying to make it right but sadly almost every part of our two person...

So usually I don't even bother writing reviews about places, but I worked here as a cashier for 6 Months last year from March-September. Last week I went up to checkers, I went to the walk-up window and asked if the ice cream machine had been working as well as cleaned as of lately. The employee I had talked to admitted that it has not been cleaned as of lately and was currently moldy. I went back yesterday and asked about the ice cream machine again. (not because I was taking any chances, but because I wanted to see how the current staff there runs things and keeps things tidy and clean. The girl I spoke with said "uhhh I'm honestly not really sure when it was last cleaned, we don't clean it often unless it needs a deep clean." I then asked her about the oil, and if it was fresh or not. She claimed it has not been changed or cleaned for about a week and a half now. As bad as it was before, I told myself I would never come back. I did. And it most definitely has gotten MUCH WORSE. There was also a long-ish black hair in my tenders when I went yesterday. I chose not to go back and make a big deal about it because I was in a rush, so I threw it out. I'm disgusted with how everything...

Noticed a couple people complain about orders via doordash getting messed up. It is even worse for the doordash drivers. It is a walk up window with NO blockage of extreme heat/sun in the summer or cold/snow/rain/wind in the winter.

PLUS the drivers are treated like the scourge of the earth. Although, honestly, this is common in a lot of restaurants or at least by some staff even if not all employees.

Tonight (Nov 21, 2022), I received a pickup from this location. It was five (5) minutes before I even arrived and checked in. The order was larger than average for checkers but not as big as some I have picked up.

A couple MINUTES after I arrived, a car pulled to the drive thru (FYI - there were zero customers waiting when I checked in). Their order was completed and the car drove off before the 'young lady' with her colorful hair walked over and informed me it could be several more minutes before my order was finished.

They stopped working on my order while I stood in the cold to start, finish and serve a drive thru customer sitting in a warm car. I left. I wish I could find a way to block this location so I would never be sent there again to put up with employees like this...
