I honestly have no reason to give this Landry's restaurant anything short of a 5 star review. We had a fabulous lunch with a window view seat on the 2nd level. The service was fantastic! It didn't feel like your typical Disney restaurant food. The Yeti theme was on point, and the Asian inspired cuisine was beautifully presented and tasty.
It's located in Asia land at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I had called months before to make a reservation since it's so very popular. At that time, they informed me that I could make the reservations early by being a member of the Landry's Select Club. You pay $25 to sign up, but then you receive that $25 back when you pay at the end of your first reserved meal. So, you're getting a great deal. Do yourself a favor and join the club. You'll be surprised at how many Landry's restaurants are in your area. You get a $25 birthday reward as well.
Anyway, Yao was our server. He was so attentive, and so helpful. I unfortunately made him work harder by spilling my iced tea after moving it to an uneven part where the two tables meet. My bad! He took care of it like a pro. Thanks Yao! He brought us new straws and napkins. He was great about giving us warnings on spice levels as well.
I couldn't resist getting the popular Cantonese Pork Belly Bowl. The fried egg on top came exactly as requested (well done). I like runny yolk, but not over my noodles. Ha! The bowl was such a generous portion. It was tasty with a little kick of spice. I really enjoyed the flavors mixed with the glazed pork belly. The bok choy had a nice fire grilled taste. It even included some crispy pork wontons, and shiitake mushrooms. I'd order it again.
Hubby selected the Korean Fried Chicken & Sticky Ribs platter off of the Secrets of the Temple menu. There's even a Thai Whole Fish on that menu. It's only a limited time, but definitely worth a look. The hubs prefers white meat, but the dish is true to the traditional dark meat (thigh and leg). It was better than he expected. I think he liked the chicken more than the ribs. The jasmine rice was very good, and the gochujang-honey sauce provided a great kick of spice for him without being overly sweet.
We were too full for dessert, but there were many. It was reasonably priced considering that $25 was discounted due to the membership. Otherwise, it would be just as pricey as most full service food options at the theme parks. It's Disney World. What can I say? We enjoyed it, and would definitely dine there again. Just keep in mind that you may want to schedule at 11:15am if you're wanting to be seated upstairs. We had an 11:00am reservation. Typically Landry's Select members get priority seating, but they don't start seating up there until 11:15am. We gladly waited. It just would have been great to know that when making the res. It's just something to consider when taking guest's requests over the phone. However, we did know that nothing is guaranteed and should never be expected since they are so busy. Not a...
Read moreUpdate May 2024. Coconut Shrimp with chicken fried rice. (Katelyn noticed the chicken fried rice wasn't on the plate so brought a side! Thank you. Y'all be nice to servers) The mixed vegetables were light and bright. And a nice variety too. The shrimp isn't overcooked, coconut was refreshing. Sauce accompanying the dish added tart flavors. This dish is not spicy. Chop chop chicken salad. Fresh. Pulled/shredded chicken. Sauce over the mixed green salad was creamy with a slight awesome zing. Shredded cabbage is part of the salad base too. Yummy and light. Unlike a lot of the dishes on the menu. If you enjoy salads, this is a good option... try substituting the shrimp for chicken too. There is a lot of chicken in the dish too. Hydrating with water. It's hot first week of June y'all.
Nov 2023. Always good to be back. Organic chai tea (fragrant for sure, and relaxing), Pork pot stickers (pan seared is definitelythe way to go), Lettuce cups (so freshand crispyand full of flavor. Shareable), and entree was the Pad Thai. How someone could eat this whole dish... goodness. There are thin slices of red pepper, so those not wanting the heat should move them to the other side of the dish. Everything we had was shared. Yum! And the cilantro is good too...not as a garnish. Happy it wasn't grainy. Fits well with meal. Atmosphere is usually happy and can be quieter or on the loud side... but once the food arrives at the table it doesn't seem so loud. Staff did and excellent job of serving! Enjoyed the menu items as the chefs prepared them...not substitutes or special requests. Excellent.
We're back at Yak & Yeti! It's been too long. And special treat, we sat upstairs by a window) We started with pot stickers (ask for seared), which are always a hit! If not, their lettuce wraps are the best. Get some of those. Since we can get teriyaki chicken at a lot of places I went with the Chicken Tikka Masala. Marinated in yogurt and herbs, served with jasmine rice and garlic Naan bread (it may be spicy for those unfamiliarwith Asian or Indian dishes, but worth it). Other dish is simply the fried rice. It's all good. (the burger or ribs are A+ too!). We'll be back for more in seasons to come. Too much we don't want to miss on the menu. Yak and Yeti! Another visit to one of our favorite Disney restaurants. This time we chose the Lomaine Chicken and the steak and shrimp special. Their chicken fried rice is so good. It's hard to keep choosing something different here. We've enjoyed the pot stickers, lettuce cups, desserts, and more. Everything is always delicious. FYI, the quick service next door is really good too... fried Eggrolls...
Read moreCan't believe I haven't reviewed Yak & Yeti years ago, but it's one of our very favorite restaurants to visit whenever we are at Disney World. Located in the Animal Kingdom park, it's a great place to enjoy the a/c and get some elevated Asian fusion dishes.
It's shocking that a restaurant of this quality is located within a theme park, and it's amazing. They also offer season ticketholder discounts, so be sure to ask. Also, if you are a Landry's Rewards member like I am, we have never waited more than 15 minutes to be seated even WITHOUT A RESERVATION! Reservations are so hard to get here, but don't be discouraged if you're a Rewards member -- it's worth every penny! You can also redeem and earn Landry's Rewards points here. We save up our points to spend when we know we have a trip to WDW planned.
You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here, but some things are better than others. I'm a huge fan of the basil chicken and my husband almost always gets the Korean rib bowl. Both are excellent quality with vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients. There are tons of vegetarian options as well, making this a breeze for vegetarians and even vegans!
The fried rice is better than the garlic noodles, and the seafood is sometimes hit or miss. The salmon is my other favorite dish and it has never disappointed. Check out my photos, you'll see the yummy dishes!
When we know we are going to be dining here, we bring a cooler to stash in our rental car because the portions are absolutely massive! Since I don't eat beef, we can't share main entrees so it's always a coin flip who has to run the leftovers back to the parking lot, LOL. But it's a joy to have the leftovers the next day (or even that evening) in our hotel!
YOU MAY NOT LIKE YAK & YETI IF:
You are a light eater and are unhappy with large portions.
You are looking for a traditional theme park meal (think fried chicken fingers and mediocre burgers and fries).
You have picky eaters in your party.
You prefer more mild, basic flavors.
You are in a hurry. Service can also be hit or miss, so plan at least 90 minutes to two hours for a meal here.
YOU WILL LOVE THIS PLACE IF:
You want elevated flavors and quality theme park food.
You want a place to escape the hustle and bustle of the parks, especially on a hot day.
You aren't in a hurry and have time to relax and unwind.
You're a Landry's Rewards Member and / or WDW...
