Worst customer service ever! My wife and I were expecting an uneventful dinner on a Monday night at Yamato. Service was initially a bit slow but it was crowded - so not a big deal. My entree arrived before my wife's so I began eating slowly. I was almost done when hers finally arrived but the order was wrong (she ordered soy paper wrap but it was made with seaweed wrap - non-starter). I had completed my meal by this time so my wife was going to cancel her order. I asked to speak with the manager and she offered to take her meal off the bill. I specifically asked her if my wife waited for her sushi to be re-made if it was complimentary and she said yes. Her meal finally came and when the bill came, her meal was on the bill. I told our server that the manager said she would take it off the bill. She sent the manager back to our table and the manager said she meant that she would take it off the bill if she canceled her order. Well, I didn't need for her to agree to that. If we canceled it I certainly wasn't going to go ahead and pay for it! At that point she said she would take 50% off my wife's meal. I told her that was not what she agreed to. She said that was all she would do so I said fine but I told her we would not be coming back. Her response was "OK". When I received the bill, the price that was charged for my entree was $18.95 instead of $15.95. I pointed that out to my server with the menu and she changed it back to the correct amount - $15.95. Unbelievable that they would try to recoup a few bucks because they discounted my wife's entree. I understand stuff happens and service can at times be slow and mistakes happen, but I expect for people (especially businesses) to take responsibility for their mistakes and, more importantly, keep their word and not lie to their customers. Read moreDO NOT AND I REPEAT. Do not go here! Not only do they steal your money you do not get your food. I had done a online order., called and paid over the phone because my daughter was going to pick it up. Not only did they give my order to someone else they never made what I ordered. Never refunded my money. When I called to speak to them about it they kept saying they didn't charge me. When I'm literally sitting here staring at my checking account saying yes they did asking for a email to forward the charge proving yes they did. They never called me back to fix this. Not reputable. Told me I had to correct this when they were the ones that screwed up. This isn't the 1st time it happened either. I figured couldn't happen twice. But 3 times. Come on now. When you turn around and try to say you ordered somewhere else. No. Especially when the charge is in your name. You call the restaurant and pay over the phone. Not to mention the lady on the phone us a snot and rude who will not let you talk and explain the situation. Glad I didn't eat there now. . Save yourself the headache. Go...
Read moreI would rather give the YAMATO STEAK HOUSE OF JAPAN A RATING OF 0(ZERO) IF I CAN, BUT SINCE I CANNOT ILL GIVE "1"STAR. I spend almost $50.00 o. On 2 Steak Sushi plates at $20.00 per Plate, plus separate 5 sushi rolls. The plain "RICE" was almost white only about 1 small cup amount, and and the burnt "STEAK" was horribly cooked and vegetables were very nasty. And, all of the food had ABSOLUTELY NO SEASONINGS. I WAS MAD AND TOTALLY BOTHERED AND DISSAPPOINTED IN THE FOOD, AFTER SPENDING SOOOOOOOO MUCH MONEY ON 2 SMALL MEALS AND A SMALL APPETIZER.
