The first thing I noticed when I opened the door was people standing in the doorway, not because they were busy, but because you have to order before you sit down. The menu is on the wall right by front door so basically blocking the entrance/ exit from the couple people in front of us. Me and my wife both ordered the hibachi combo with noodles, then we were directed down the counter to get our utensils which were plastic. When the food came it came to our table one order, then about 4 minutes later the other meal. Both our orders were lukewarm and nothing to write home about. After about 7 mins we asked someone walking by where our noddles were and she wanted to look at my receipt like I was trying to pull a fast one, then quickly said there on there way. I had to take a picture which I added here because they were spaghetti noddles not the kind I have ever gotten at a hibachi restaurant before. Overall what we got was ok, nothing I would rave about by any means. (Note to owners) if you plan on staying in business at this location you need to make some changes or you won’t last. How about letting us sit down look at a menu without feeling rushed to order because you have us blocking the front damn door. How about some real silverware to eat with and last but not least how about bring our food hot to our table and together. No one wants to watch people eat at their table while they wait for their food. If I want fast food mentality I’ll go to a fast...
Read moreThe chicken & vegetable Yakisoba is literally some of the best Japanese food I’ve ever tasted. So delicious. Also, the Mexican roll is amazing, and the Yum Yum sauce is the best I’ve had 👌
Aside from the food, the people are nice, and the place is cozy. Definitely recommend
Update:
Upon my most recent visit, the food did not taste as good as before (I think they got a new cook) and they upped their prices by quite a bit. I would say the yakisoba increased by about $3 and some of the sushi by about $1-$2. In addition to being more expensive, they also made some weird and unnecessary menu changes. For one, they got rid of the Mexican roll which was my favorite; very disappointing. And they also removed the option to have a combo of vegetable and meat with your yakisoba, which was an extremely strange decision. I asked our waitress if I could just get the combo, and she said no, but that I could get a side of the chicken with my vegetable yakisoba instead, which would have cost me an extra $7, which obviously I refused. Just seems like a ridiculous and rude attempt to squeeze more money out of their customers. The combo was already more expensive than just getting solely chicken or solely vegetables, so I don’t understand why they weren’t content with that. It makes me so sad to see that, what used to be literally my favorite Japanese restaurant, has now dropped in quality so badly just...
Read moreFood was good. Everything tasted good but my wife and I both agreed that the tempura batter was bland. It definitely needs salt and probably some other flavor. Come to think of it my soup and salad were bland as well, maybe totally devoid of spice or salt. I was able to remedy that somewhat by asking for salt and pepper.
Atmosphere was average. Nothing fantastic but also nothing that put us off. Clean and fresh smelling with enough lighting that my old eyes could easily read the menu.
Service was top notch. Our server was there exactly when we needed her. As soon as I pushed a plate or bowl a few inches towards the middle of the table she was there to remove it. And she excelled at one of the things that is one of my pet peeves. As soon as we were done she asked if we were done and when we said yes, she gave us our check within a minute. As soon as I put my credit card in the jacket, she took it and was back almost immediately. Too many places do well before and during the meal but then are slow to handle the payment process, sometimes delaying you 10-15 minutes, but not her. She was extremely efficient.
Overall I rate them 5 stars but I do rate the flavor of the food we both...
