I was a customer of Da Noi in Staten Island on fingerboard road and Victory boulevard for a good 10 years the food there was always good. Now to the Bayonne location. I forgot the bartenders name he was great he was very helpful. Linda the server not so much seemed annoyed by all the questions we were asking about the food. Now on to the food the Fried Calamari was good. The Zuppa De clams we asked for an appetizer portion .again she wasn't listening so Linda gave us a full order for like $17 ridiculous. On to dinner both entrees with terrible I had a veal chop valdestano. I asked for some extra sauce on the side the sauce is poured all over the chop there's way too much Brandy in the sauce . Overwhelmed the taste of the veal I asked could you please not overcook the veal the veal was like cardboard way overcooked. My wife had the Calves Liver . One of our favorite dishes when we used to eat in Staten Island for some reason it was terrible! To much wine overwhelmed the taste of the liver . I told the Server about the problem really didn't seem to care so we asked for an extra plate so we could take all the liver and onions out and put it on a separate pay so it wasn't drowning in that overwhelming wine sauce which destroyed the taste of the liver . On to dessert okay they said they had American cheesecake. they didn't have it they only had Italian cheesecake didn't like it so we took a chance on the hot molten lava cake . Was supposed to be served warm with chocolate oozing out of the middle. There was no chocolate in the middle of the cake and was barley warm. What can I say overall terrible experience. when I asked would you mind buying us an after dinner drink for such a terrible experience here and they said we don't do that. Sorry to say we won't be returning there Eddie Gomez I don't know how you messed up. Just being honest stay safe and be...
Read moreCame by here for dinner because cafe bello was packed. Didn’t like the the menu items so the waiter recommended he would make a salad and salmon entree which weren’t on the menu to our liking. Well that came with a price and he charged me $35 for a salmon with some jarred sweet sauce dumped all over it and $17 for a salad with barely any dressing or toppings. I looked at the regular menu and noticed the fish entrees were $28 and salads were around $13. So why $35 and $17 charge ? The salad was very dry and bland and not worth the $17 at all. He decided to charge wtvr he wanted because it wasn’t on the menu. And the desserts were terrible. Tiramisu tasted old and stale I assure you he lied and said it was homemade and it actually wasn’t and the crème brûlée tasted like clotted cream with no flavor.
BUT….
what was more disturbing is how the waiter consistently made me feel so uncomfortable and kept trying to push me atleast 10x to drink some alcohol and mind you I’m with 3 small kids. He said no he said cmon you need to. He needs to get fired for his unprofessionalism. he was a Spanish complexion guy.. Worst Italian place I ever been to. I only give it one star for the...
Read moreMy husband and I went there this evening and were turned away, I would assume it was because we had on winter wear…. The establishment was still open people were inside and we were told they were closed when it says they are open til 10pm. It’s such a shame we have a large Italian American family from Staten Island and Bayonne. We wanted to try out a new place for my daughter’s graduation and chose this as an option. Unfortunately, we were turned away. Needless to say the 75+ party for said graduation will be going to cafe bello where we held our son’s baptism. Thank you for making me be ashamed of my Italian American culture. Maybe stay in Staten Island, NY where rude staff is fine. Across the kill we act just a...
