To owners Janet and Rocky Coviello, I wish 0 stars was an option. I had the most unpleasant visit to the Diner last night between 10:20pm and 11pm. I placed an order on the phone for pick up and was charged over the phone in advance because the food was over $60. When I arrived to the restaurant at approximately 10:20 pm (the time the waitress Virginia said I should) the food was not ready, not a problem. I signed the credit card receipt (with who I was later told was Virginia) for my food and sat at the seat by the register waiting for it to be ready. Two different people asked me what my order was and took a look at my receipt in the interim (a dark haired older male who worked on the floor and greeted me when I arrived...he acted as a manager because he assisted the man at the main cashier with a customer-waitress discrepancy about splitting the bill) and a younger female with black pony tail). My order was brought out by the dark haired male/greeter who worked the floor. I started to look through the bag and he assured me it was all there because he packed it. He asked if I had paid and I said I had. I walk out the restaurant down the ramp and notice the team furiously trying to communicate with me through the glass. I thought that perhaps I left something behind the way that they were acting. When I went back into the restaurant, they kept asking me if I had paid and I had to pull my receipt out to prove that I had. The dark-haired ponytail girl has a bad attitude and was telling me they didn't have a signed slip in the drawer and was demanding I give my receipt. She demanded I give her my original and take a picture for myself. It seems Virginia had left and they couldn't figure it out. This is totally unacceptable. I did not have to come back inside once I paid. I did not have to try to accommodate anyone I am a paying customer. The staff needs to know how to deal with crises when they arise and how to talk to customers. How is a customer allowed access to food that isn't paid for? There was no communication in there last night. I tried to make a complaint on the phone and spoke to a manager named Wiley this morning but that was not effective. Is this a racially motivated situation? How do you royally mess up a pre-paid take out order? I paid over $70 for food and got harassed. I was thinking about using the catering hall for an event but don't want to deal with the company anymore. An apology is owed to me and the staff need training.
Edited my score from a 1 to a 3 - there are menu items that are really good but there are inconsistencies depending on which day you go and what cook/servers are on.
Initial review: The waitress overcharged me for an item I ordered and when I finally got her to admit it was wrong she tried to shrug I off like it wasn't too much of a difference. I even had to call over the manager to fix it and his math was shoddy too. They try to go against the menu and use prices not listed on the menu. I bet if I was $1-2 short they wouldn't think it was...
Read moreI was here twice. The first time I thought the food was pretty average. The second time I thought it was a lot better. Just have to try different things to see what is good.
Our waitress was really nice. Super attentive and got the answers to all of our questions. The atmosphere is a normal, quaint and comfortable diner atmosphere. The booths are nice, if people sit behind you, you don’t feel them getting up and down which is nice.
I got the filet mignon special for $24 that night. It was two 4oz medallions with 2 sides, and a salad. That’s a great deal. The steak was a first cut, so not the fancy center cut but that’s fine. The meat was tender. Only one part had a vein and was grizzly but that’s what you get with the first cut of a filet. The one thing was it was all very very salty. They put too much salt in it. I liked the cheese and the sautéed onions on top. I got the broccoli, I can tell it was frozen broccoli steamed but it was fine. I would have preferred fresh. Baked potato was good. My husband got the spicy crab bisque special soup and the mussels cavatelli. The mussels were excellent for $16. It looked like more than 2 dozen mussels and with pasta in a tomato cream sauce. Mussels where plump and fresh and cooked perfectly, not chewy at all. The pasta was Al dente and also perfect and the sauce was mild and creamy and delicious. It also came with a salad, he got the Caesar salad. Dressing was really good and not too salty, and the cheese on top was good as well. Sometimes Caesar salads can be stinky or really strong like anchovies and cheese but this was not and it was really good. My mom enjoyed her big Greek salad with grilled chicken on top. So big she couldn’t finish it. My dad didn’t like his burger though. It said 8oz and it was definitely not 8. It was flattened and thin and was more like 6oz. The fries were also very very greasy and soggy. Maybe the oil in deep fryer wasn’t at right temp. But I was reading other reviews that say the same thing about the fries and the burger.
The waitress brought bread to the table which was really nice and also gave my dad 2 pickles and coleslaw which was also really nice.
Double chocolate cake was good. I liked the outside with the chocolate flakes. But it was a little dry and had a odd chemical aftertaste.
It was kind of busy on a Saturday at 6 for dinner. Next time I want to try their famous pancakes. Overall very happy with the experience, our waitress was amazing and food was decent and super well priced. Best things were Caesar salad and mussels...

My experience before food was served was great. The waitress took our order then came back to say that they did not have what I wanted in the kitchen. She suggested I order something else which I said yes to and when she was about to walk away, she explained that it came with horseradish or ranch sauce which I don't eat neither. I told her I no longer wanted it and ordered chicken wings instead.
When the wings came, the sauce was good and the meal looked good. I took a bite of the wing and the meat tasted spoiled so i didn't eat anymore of that piece.I tried a second wing (the piece that looks like a drumstick) and that piece did not taste bad so I ate it. I asked my friend of mine to try one and she took one bite and agreed. I picked up another piece to smell it, broke it and it smelled horrible. The waitress suggested I speak with a manager
I called the waitress over to send back the plate and she asked if I wanted to order something else and I declined. The waitress came back a few minutes later to suggest that I take the food away or eat it because the chef and manager said I will have to pay for it.
I was shocked as to why they would suggest that I eat meat that tastes spoiled (old...cooked long ago, spoiling and reheated). The waitress told me to speak with the manager by the door whom I had seen her speak to while pointing at me and making a bad face. I went over to the manager showed her a picture of the meat I spit out and the piece of wing left from the one my friend tried (I spoke quietly in order to not embarrass the business). She wasn't concerned and kept telling me I have to pay because I ate 3 pieces which I didn't and they won't be able to serve it back (why would they even want to?) I ate 1 and tried (one bite into which I swallowed the bite, one I ate and the third which my tried took one bite.
I am disgusted and as I lay here, I have food poisoning because of them. This is horrible to do to a customer. If a customer says that your meat tastes like it is decaying, don't force them to take it away or make them pay for it. I took pictures of what I spit and the pieces that were bitten. They still wanted us to pay for their negligence.
I am disgusted, feel like I was taken advantage of and now paying the price of being served meat that was spoiled, reheated and plated well with a...
