Cafe Bello — Restaurant in Bayonne

Cafe Bello came through! A great experience as we could not have a normal Christmas this year due to family being ill. My wife and I stayed home all weekend and today we decided to order in using a gift certificate we had for Cafe Bello, and even with staffing shortages, they were very polite, honest and informed us it may take longer than normal for delivery. I understood all of this considering the situation we are all currently in.

The fact that they took the time to go the extra step for my wife and I to deliver (we are trying to social distance to prevent getting sick) they did exceptionally well with all the food, great portion sizes and food was delicious! I added some photos to show just some of what was ordered, and even the cool silverware rollups they sent. The only real issue that took place is when we received a call saying they ran out of teramisu and would substitute it. I accepted the chocolate cake instead, again understanding that this type of thing happens and I was pleased with the fact they even called to let me know versus not informing me and just not receiving anything. I greatly appreciate everything the staff has done to make sure we received our meal. Original time expected before delivered was set to 1 hour at least, we received our food about 35 minutes after my initial phone call. Thank you everyone for making today a great day for me and my wife, it truly is a special one. Appreciate all the effort! Have a great holiday season and have a Happy & Safe New Year 2022! My grandparents lived in Jersey City most of my life. From the time I was around 5, trips to Nanny and Pop Pop's house also meant dinner at Cafe Bello. It was my brother and I's favorite restaurant and we always ordered the same thing: penne con pollo. Mine without sun dried tomatoes. Once my Nan passed and my Pop Pop moved in with us, we didn't go back. It wasn't until a few years ago when my pop passed that my brother and I decided to go back to celebrate them. To our surprise, nothing had changed. Every bite was just as delicious as we remembered it when we were young (except now I eat the sun dried tomatoes). We also had the same wonderful server, Lorenzo. I had told all this to my now fiancé, who was a bit skeptical about the true quality of the food and thought my sentiment was what made it amazing. Well, I took him for the first time last year and he agreed it was the best Italian he has ever had! He even got to meet Lorenzo. I am now almost 30, and the penne con pollo is still the best pasta dish I have ever had (what is even in that sauce?!). The focaccia is also the best bread I've ever eaten. My brother compares every tiramisu to theirs, and has yet to find one better. My mom would tell you you can't go wrong ordering anything, especially from the specials. I no longer live in NJ, but my fiancé made sure we went this week being back for the holidays. It's nice to share an incredible meal along with so many memories. I cannot recommend this...

What are the things that I can't say about this place?? Let's start off with a fact that I was told to go here by some of the locals and I am going to say that I was not disappointed in the least!!! Let me say that again. I loved this place this place. So I started off with the mozzarella triangles which were just absolutely incredible. The bread the, and sauce was just tip tops My main dish consisted of rigatoni's ala vodka and I could not be happier with the flavor profile of this dish. The sauce was rich and creamy, the pasta was cooked al dente, portion size was incredible. In fact I was unable to even finish my meal. But that's okay because you get a little to-go container and you can finish it when you're back in your hotel!! There were so many other wonderful options on the menu that I could have stayed here for a month and probably not gone through each item. I hopefully will be back to start the process of going through every single dish on the menu!!

I just can't get enough of this place that every time I fly to New York that I have to hop in an Uber or a Lyft and head on over for the rigatoni ala vodka.
