Ordered from this place since our favorite local Indian restaurant, Masala Express, recently closed. We were pretty excited since there weren't any other Indian restaurants in the area and dreaded driving to JC just for take out. We ordered the Garlic naanm, Chicken tikka masala, and Chicken tikka. The first time we order from any restaurant we get pretty basic meals just to test them out. I have never been so disappointed by a restaurant in my life. It boggles my mind that this restaurant is in business, but Masala Express isn't. My chicken Tikka masala was overwhelming with flavors of pumpkin, and sweet peppers. It had a nutmeg and sweet flavor that reminded me more of pumpkin or butternut squash soup instead of Tikka masala. I ordered this meal medium. (spice goes from mild, medium, to spicy). I couldn't taste even a HINT of spice. It literally just tasted of sugar. Almost like the sweet sauce you get from Chinese food restaurants when you order sweet and sour chicken. The chicken tikka masala was almost inedible with how sweet it was. The chicken in the tikka masala wasn't even tikka or seasoned. It was plain, boiled, unseasoned chicken, thrown in some blended up sweet pepper sauce. I don't even think 1 tomato was used. Chicken Tikka Masala is supposed to be seasoned the tikka way and have a tomatoey rich sauce with cream that isn't overwhelming. I could have done a better job whipping this up in my own kitchen and I am no chef. They also informed us that they charge an extra 15% if we used our card over cash which is outrageous. I have heard of 3% charge... even a 10% charge. But 15% is pretty wild- especially for a low grade restaurant. On top of that the amount of food they gave us for the price was dismal. The naan bread was rubbery as it wasn't cooked all the way. First and LAST time eating here. Wouldn't recommend this...

Flame Indian Grill is probably one of the best Indian restaurants in the NY/NJ area and I mean that knowing that there are tons of Indian restaurants in the area especially closeby Jersey City. I’ve been ordering in from this restaurant for over 2 months now and have never found a single dish that wasn’t mind glowingly brilliant. They make every single dish with utmost care and perfection. The Grilled Pompfret, Shrimp Tikka, biryanis, Samosa and their amazing Mint Chutney is to die for. I’ve eaten and ordered in from a ton of Indian restaurants but I’ve never enjoyed as impeccable quality as Flame Indian grill provides. Everyone in my family from my 70 year old parents who’ve lived in India all their lives to my 7 year old nephews all loved their food.

We dined in yesterday with my family and there was a small problem with an order. Not only did they promptly fixed the problem immediately with a smile but gave us a ton of complimentary drinks/desserts/appetizers without even asking.
