Mothers, women, and girls beware!!! There are multiple older male park workers who have been spotted “slow riding” around in their orange buggy’s with the sole intention to harass and ogle young teenage girls and women alone at the park, and I have spoken to other mothers who have seen these park workers attempting to talk and catcall MINORS. I saw a minor and her friend catcalled by an older darkskin man with a white beard with my own eyes just this afternoon while I was walking my baby. It disgusted and enraged me 100%. What happened today truly dampened my impression of the park and I will no longer be suggesting that my young nieces and teenage children play in the area solo. The girls were so shook up they asked me to walk them out of the park. THIS IS NOT OKAY!!!!!! Park Supervisor Michael Waterman PLEASE be advised that the onus is on YOU to CURB THIS BEHAVIOR IMMEDIATELY before summer continues on and something worse happens and we mothers are forced to involve the police… because next time I’ll do that AND go to the press (and I won’t be...
Read moreFor park that is next to an estuary, it feels a little too midtown park. The gravel roads are not too good as some of the stones are bigger than the others.
There is tok much garbage by the shore and I have never seen anyone around to clean.
The noise pollution from the highway and nearby bridge detracts from the park vibe.
Although I see some people do it, I would never camp on any of the grass because the inner green area is wah too urban.
Also, the roundabout road that encompasses the park is paved in asphault whichbis hard on the knees. This is especially frustrating when you run off from the boardwalk nearby. Not even the gravel rode is as hard on the knees.
This park is a good hangout spot and that is the problem. It feels more like a garden than a park.
Better alternatives are Hudson County Park and Liberty State Park. They are both larger and have more sites, specialized areas off the beaten...
Read moreI have lived in Bayonne my whole life And have spent countless hours In Stephen R Greg Park. One of the most beautiful things about the Stephen Gregg park is that it WAS a little piece of forest forest in the midst of a city. In recent years storms have destroyed a lot of trees, A lot of trees!. Unfortunately, current county administration seems to prefer wasting money on painting curbs yellow and posting signs in the middle of grassy knolls. But not one beloved tree has been replaced. This leaves a lot to be desired In terms of seeking shade. On game days there is little to no parking for those of us who just want to go for a jog, rollerblade, or a simple strole. This is due to one whole side of the street there is no parking & over crowding. Unfortunately this park has become a little city in and of itself, there's no longer a quiet, tree and...
