It breaks my heart to have to write this review , however I believe that after being a customer for almost 5 + years I deserved better service . The place is a bit pricey but I never had an issue paying because service was good .

I dropped off a special occasion dress 2 weeks ago to get cut . It was a gown that I requested to be cut SHORT at knee length . Went back to pick it up 2 weeks later and when I got home the dress was cut at tea length and it looked like the perfect outfit for a nun to wear and not a special event . I called and said I was bringing the dress back on Tuesday , however after rethinking the situation I realized I could not attend my Saturday event with this dress the way it was . I went in on Saturday morning and she wasn’t in , her kids said she would be back before 1pm so I asked them to call her and see if she could fix the mistake today as I needed the dress by no later than 2-3pm .

She then proceeded to tell me she doesn’t do same day alterations blah blah blah .

Making a long story short I was charged $145 for a bad alteration not to my expectation and was left to deal with it . I honestly expected better customer service considering the amount of money I spent in this place over the years .

I had to take the dress elsewhere to get altered to my standards and pay again wasting time and money I didn’t have .

So I don’t really recommend this services because all will go well until it doesn’t and when it doesn’t there’s NO EFFORT on their part to address...

Please do not go to this tailor, very rude service, will use the phone while trying to pick up an item. Do not recommend going here. Also overpriced compared to other options.

The WORST tailor I’ve ever been to!! DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS IF YOU WANT RUDE SERVICE AND THE SAME DRESS THAT YOU DROPPED OFF! Paid an arm and a leg for my dress to NOT be altered after being at this shop for over 3 weeks. Incredibly disappointed. I do not recommend this service and would tell you to go anywhere else in New Jersey or New York before going here! I’m just glad that I received my dress back for $260 and then had to go to ANOTHER TAILOR THE DAY BEFORE MY BEST FRIENDS WEDDING TO PAY ONLY $20 TO GET MY DRESS ALTERED CORRECTLY. THIS TAILOR IS A SCAM!

Adding additional information: If the dress was too difficult for the owner to work on they should have said so. I would have gladly gone to a tailor that knew what was needed for the dress. Let me also mention that the tailor at this shop DID NOT WRITE DOWN MY MEASUREMENTS.

Please also note that this Bayonne tailor charged PER LAYER to take the dress out. However, did not take the dress out AT ALL.

Nicole is really kind and she does a great job at alterations, completes everything on time, but the poor attention to detail is what drives this review down. Earlier this year I dropped off a satin jumpsuit for dry cleaning and it was returned to me without the matching satin belt. She insisted that I lost the belt before I dropped it off and she “would’ve wrote down that there is a belt on the ticket.” I searched the entire house and I know that I do not have the belt anywhere in my house or in my car. One strike is fine, but I picked up a bridesmaid dress and I specifically asked to save the hem to wrap it around my bouquet. I know I made a point to ask for this, but I did not receive the hem. She said I never told her and it wasn’t on the ticket. It’s not my responsibility to remind her to make sure that all of the requests are written on the tickets if that’s how she tracks the information.

Overall good quality alterations, timely, rather expensive, but if you want anything done in a specific way, or your garments have a number of matching pieces or accessories, I recommend you make her write this down on a ticket in front of you so she can’t tell you later that “you never told her” or “you lost...
