Oh, where do I begin with our visit to Side Door Saloon? Let's just say it was an absolute blast from the first buzzer to the final whistle. Our team of taste buds embarked on a flavorsome journey, guided by the one and only Stephen, our witty and knowledgeable waiter. Get ready to laugh your way through this review as we relive the highlights of our dining experience!

First off, let's talk about the star players of the menu: the drinks and food options. We started off with a bang by diving headfirst into their famous buffalo dip. It was a touchdown of flavors, with each bite delivering a perfect combination of tangy and spicy goodness. Our taste buds were cheering!

Next up, the Waikiki quesadilla and shrimp pasta stepped onto the court. These dishes were pure slam dunks. The quesadilla took us on a tropical trip, bursting with the flavors of paradise. And the shrimp pasta? Well, let's just say it dribbled its way into our hearts with its succulent shrimp and perfectly cooked pasta, making it a definite three-pointer.

But wait, there's more! The drinks were nothing short of legendary. The margaritas were like a victory parade for our taste buds. Every sip was a celebration of tanginess and refreshment. And then came the raspberry Long Island iced tea. Oh, dear readers, this drink was a triple-threat combination of fruity, zesty, and a little kick of magic. It definitely left us wanting an encore.

Now, let's talk about the MVP of the evening: Stephen, our fantastic waiter. Not only did he have the moves, but his charismatic personality brought the whole dining experience to life. He served up laughs along with the food, dishing out recommendations with a side of humor. Stephen, you truly scored big with your...

Been meaning to try it for years, finally got around to it on Saturday, 05/11/13. Crowded, loud, and obviously popular with the local yokels. Draft beer selection is very limited, but offers good variety of cheap lager and microbrew between four taps. Two of us ordered the Steak Zolie, rare, with assurance that the broiler man means rare. Third ordered Shanghai Tuna, medium-rare. Despite the crowd, all entrees arrived in about 10 minutes. Tuna did arrive properly cooked, still red-pink. Sirloins were more medium than rare, but very tender and the wine-mushroom-fried onion sauce was tasty. Manager swung by to ask how things were, and we mentioned the overcooked steak. He apologized and after offering to get us new steaks (which we politely declined) took half-off both of our entrees on the spot. Waitress also apologized shortly thereafter. Who does this kind of customer service anymore? :-) And we even told both of them that the steaks were fine, just a little overdone.

Will certainly go back for the tuna and would even give the steak another go, also want to try the 'famous' burgers. Prices for the higher-end entrees are very reasonable for the Petoskey/Harbor Springs area - $14-17 for steak/fish entree, bread, vegetable and potato, $19 for the weekend prime rib special. Burgers and sandwiches are $7-10, but do only include chips. They definitely make most of their money off the bar - my pint of Fat Tire was $6 - but there are nightly drink specials and I'm sure the macro beers are...

Carol M was our server she was great. We got a filet and twin lobster tails. Our filet was cooked perfectly, the food was mouth watering. It was my 1st time here & it's obvious which way this place swings with the flu like virus called Covid, they have arrows pointed on the ground, diapers on your face MUST be worn. Funny how the Country and our State have worn the face diapers for at least the last 10 weeks religiously and the cases are at a all time high. That proves face diapers DON'T work. It's funny to go into certain places & not 1 person wears them ESPECIALLY in Conservative States & even here in Michigan & Patriot run places. It's clear to see just by looking at the numbers yet I believe many businesses-managers get off on the dictatorship they enjoy saying wear your Diaper. Hahaha. I still give this place 5 stars I just hope that soon people will wake up to the fact that wHitler holds NO power & that it will be 100% fine if you don't wear the mask unless you are sick or have underlying...

5 Stars – Side Door Saloon: Where Meatloaf Dreams Come True Listen, I don’t say this lightly, but the meatloaf sandwich at Side Door Saloon might have changed my life. I’m not sure what magic they’re working back there in the kitchen, but it tastes like it was made by someone’s Midwestern grandma who’s been cooking since the Truman administration. Perfectly seasoned, grilled just right, and stacked like it’s on a mission—this sandwich deserves its own national holiday. Now let’s talk beer. You ever drink something so cold it makes you question if you’ve been doing it wrong your whole life? The beer here is ice cold, like “winter-in-Petoskey-but-you’re-happy-about-it” cold. My glass literally had goosebumps. Great food, cold drinks, and a vibe that says “stay a while, we won’t judge you for ordering another meatloaf sandwich.” What more do you need? 10/10, would move in if they’d let me.

The atmosphere here is campy and woodsy. It is also loud. It doesn't take much to make a loud murmur. That doesn't mean I didn't like it, because I enjoyed myself a lot. I had read that they were consistently voted in top 5 for Northwest Michigan. I ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger. It was cooked PERFECTLY! It was an excellent piece of beef! The bacon was excellent and bbq sauce was tasty. The bun was tasty, but not overpowering. The only thing is the burger looked small. Somehow it was deceiving and very filling. The person I was with had the regular burger and agreed on all points. The service was friendly and competent. Overall 5 stars. Would I return? Yes Yes Yes Yes, hmmmm Yes! Lastly the don't serve anything Deep Fried, so NO fries or onion rings. Just chips.
