We travel to Petoskey for monthly visit to get medical attention for my eyes. Never had a bad experience until yesterday June 26th when the woman at the counter treated me like and inconvenience for buying 4 cupcakes to bring home to my family. She was ignorant to my sister and I and shoved my cupcakes in the box which in turn ruined their appearance.
As much as I told everyone in the upper peninsula how great they were I will now have to let them know that im embarrassed to even send them to a place where they will be treated as such.
Unfortunately we will not be returning after months of going there. Don't get me wrong their food is amazing, but the customer service we received yesterday was uncalled for in every way possible. I work in customer service myself since I was 14 years old and now am in my 40s. It was appalling to be treated with disrespect in such a way for wanting to buy 4 cupcakes. With the dirty looks and rude demeanor from her and how she treated other customers behind me will be the reason that many travelers will give negative feedback and choose to go elsewhere. Read moreSuper disappointed, ordered the sunrise bagel with a different bagel choice and the person on the phone had no idea what I was explaining (with the bagel including egg whites provolone cheese and turkey sausage) said the phone was hard to hear in which is why she couldn’t understand I was asking for to ring in my order. Regrettably was a grab and run on my way to work and was sad to see that they placed three thin slices of turkey deli meat on the bagel instead of the turkey sausage it is supposed to be made with. I’m pregnant and in my third trimester so I’m a avoiding deli meats right now. Took the meat off and just had to eat the egg and bagel since I couldn’t leave work to go back and have it fixed. Husband called to ask for a credit for the next time I come in which is typically every Saturday as i’v always enjoyed Big Apple Bagel for years now and my friend Phil used to cook there for awhile so I loved supporting the business. Read moreSLOW!!!!!!! I had a similar experience to today, the other day when ordering just a small breakfast bagel. They have 3-4 employees working and should be able to cover the lunch hour. However, they seem to always be switching roles midstream - meaning someone at the toaster will stop what they're doing to help another employee carry trays to dine in customers instead of just setting them on the raised bar for the server to get on a second trip. Then they have to go back and put new gloves on again. Today I ordered a turkey club, filled my drink, used the bathroom, and sat for almost 10 minutes while 3 people that came in after me were already being handed their orders. And they still didn't get my order right. They put tomatoes and American cheese on when I asked for no tomatoes and cheddar cheese. If it didn't taste so good I probably wouldn't think about going back. One positive, at least I've never seen anyone there do anything that wasn't sanitary, like I've witnessed at the Traverse...
