Rosie O'Grady's Irish American Pub — Restaurant in Beaufort

This place has seen better days. Obviously, no money is being spent on upkeep, thus the unusual dark atmosphere @ 3pm. My flip flops stuck to the bathroom floor. No hot water. My bf found the same condition in the men's room. We were looking for an appetizer but was told the kitchen was closed until the cook comes on duty later. About an hour later it appears the owner showed up and said he could make us something. We both opted for a garden salad with 4 large shrimp. That would have cost approximately $16 per salad. I said no thank you "I'll finish my wine and my boyfriend will finish his non-alcoholic drink and we'll go." Well, guess what? There is a $10 minimum on a credit/debit card and our bill was about $7. I tried to rev up some sympathy because we did intend to eat and we would have been spending more than $10. But, because the kitchen was closed and the salad prices were outrageous, I said no to food. He wasn't budging on the minimum charge. Visiting Rosies based on a local's recommendation left us with mixed feelings. While the bar was bustling with patrons, the service experience fell short of expectations. Despite sitting at the bar, the staff seemed inattentive, and we were directed to order from the side, leading to some confusion as others were served ahead of us.

When we inquired about last call, the response of "soon" lacked clarity, and the final call was not announced. Disappointingly, when we returned to the bar area, we were abruptly informed that they were no longer serving without any prior indication. A remark regarding shots from the bartender came across as unwelcoming and off-putting.

In light of our underwhelming visit, we cannot wholeheartedly recommend Rosies to others. We hope that our experience was an isolated incident and that future patrons may have a...

I have visited here at least 20 plus times. Note I am from Ireland and Served in the Marines all over the World. This pub is awesome. The Burgers and Chicken Wings are out of this world. The Staff are awesome. Got to love the drinks menu also. If you want a few pints and a bag of crisps and feel like you are back in Dublin look no further. I certainly will be returning soon. I always get treated like a King every time I go. They even showed my Rugby Game on the Telly when Ireland was playing the U.S.A. last year in a friendly game down in Texas.
