We were travelers. Looking for a good place to dine. We decided upon Waffle House, which upon first thought may not be the “best” place. However. It was the best place. It was the most amazing place.
We were greeted when we came in by Ms. Felicia. Her friendliness is unmatched. Her kindness and grace, unrivaled. Even though she had worked over 40 hours in 3 days. I knew she was tired, but she didn’t let that slow her down.
She suggested food for us to enjoy and even offered whipped cream for my kids waffles (which they enjoyed greatly)! She even tried to get me to buy into a pumpkin spice waffle. Sorry, but I just can’t. Gotta have the original! Haha.
Once we ordered, Mr. Terry got to work cooking and plating our food. I’ve eaten at a lot of Waffle Houses over the years, and never been given the type of dishes he created. They were delicious, hot and expertly prepared.
The atmosphere that Ms Felicia created only added to our enjoyment. The jukebox was playing, she was singing, we were singing.. we laughed a lot during that meal.
I started by saying we were traveling. We’ll be back that way soon. And you can bet that we’ll stop back by that Waffle House and see Ms. Felicia and Mr. Terry once again. Waffle House should be honored to have them working there, and count themselves lucky to have such competent, dedicated employees who make their guests experiences so memorable. Whatever they’re paying them, it’s not enough. Nowhere near. We’ll remember this visit for...
Read moreStarted with a considerate citizen who had to back his long bed pickup with an extended hitch into the spot closest to the front door because one MUST back their big a$$ed truck into the closest parking spot...... BTW, ty very much Mr Considerate. Sit down at the bar, the top looked like it hadn't been wiped down in God knows how long. We sit, with all our stuff in our laps...thinking that like in other restaurants that's a indication to professional wait folks to wipe up the surface....our wait person, who show absolutely no urgency the entire time we're there, tells us she'll be "right with us". Proceeds to take care of a couple pick up orders while we wait & wait. When she decides to assist us she brings the silver/napkins, catches a major attitude when we ask for the surface we're going to eat on be cleaned. Returns with the silver & has to wipe the knives/spoons, guess they were to gross even for her! Order put in & cooked then sits long enough that the eggs were cold when she served them. Did I mention the eggs didn't come as I had ordered them. Oh, yeah, still no coffee....look up & waitress is standing in corner sipping a drink.....had to ask, again, for ours! We highly recommend that anyone who hasn't been to the WF do so for this superb dinning experience.....if u can get...
Read moreAt this point I think it's just Beaufort...drove all the way to lady's Island location because the boundary st location is now closed...as it should be...that's a whole nother disaster...anyway my husband just got back with the food and...the ham is gray and uncooked, the eggs look like the powder eggs they serve in school breakfast. The grits seems old...my husband ate the waffle and that's it. I feel like people that work in the food industry here don't give a rats but. And I'm not spending my money at another restaurant in this town to get over charged for ratchet customer service and disgusting food...I'll wait to eat waffle house when I go over to savanna or Hardeeville location has never let me down... The manager and staff there should come give this location some much needed training...whoever cooked our food today needs to be fired, serving raw ham. And the fact that we can't even take it back we have jobs to go to and of course they're not answering the phone...great way to start...
