Golden Chick — Restaurant in Beaumont

It’s my first time here and let me tell ya the food is hands down delicious and fresh. The macaroni is elite. You won’t be disappointed.

However, when I walked in the door there were one employee standing at the counter, looked directly at me and said nothing. All employees were busy, but the GM Mexican lady a foreign guy in a black shirt and every single employee who passed by front counter said nothing. At least they could have said “ have u been helped” or we’ll be with you on a moment” Absolutely nothing it was one lady who came from drive through who rang me up. I don’t know if she was supposed to do that or she seen too that no one will attempt to assist me.

When I got my food everything was fresh, soda was strong, but the portion size of the macaroni was extremely small. It looked like one big scoop of a table spoon. Was I supposed to to say upsize my side in order to get a full portion? However it was cheesy and good!

It says free ice cream, but the machine was “down.”

It says free WiFi but I asked the foreign guy in the black shirt he didn’t know, a reg worker, he tried to guess, and even the shirt Mexican lady who they says is a Gm even didn’t know. She asked them to call someone named Tiffany to find out. I appreciate them going lengths to find out but you would think at least the Gm would know. The people I did engage with were not rude but they need to for sure address the customers standing there waiting to order.

While I’m typing this they ignored another customer and she and the Gm was arguing because the customer wanted corporate’s number but everyone seem to not know it. I’ve frequented here several times. Typically I would pick the food up but this time son picked the food up and they forgot the macaroni in the bag. My husband was like no big deal, but I’m like no we paid for it, I want it. So I go back to the store leaving the food at home to explain that we didn’t get the macaroni the manager was borderline accusatory that I was lying. Sir I live past Major and Folsom. My receipt clearly shows this was about 20 minutes ago. Why would I come all the way back up here for ONE thing of macaroni after already paying almost $40 for food. Oh I was hot. So after arguing, he gave me the macaroni in which I paid for. I asked for the the Store Mgrs name and number. He gave me a first name and told me to complete the survey/ QR code on the receipt and oh baby I did.

Stay with me. I completed the survey and the manager called me back in 10 minutes. Well as he called we were literally just sitting to eat, the now cold chicken , only to see it was not all the way cooked. I explained to him the macaroni mishap. My displeasure with being inconvenienced with having to return to the store and being accused of wanting a free macaroni and to top it off the uncooked chicken. Long story short. Feb 6th, 2024. 7pm. First time at the Beaumont store though I've been to other locations. The line was long though that's to be expected for a new restaurant, but it moved decently. My turn to order & I got 2 words out before the young lady through the speaker started loudly hysterically laughing. Totally threw me so I stopped talking due to her unprofessional manner. She lulled to a giggle & said she was sorry through additional giggles. Super irritating. Finally placed my order & received it quickly. The young guy at the window (I wish I'd gotten his name) was so nice & had extremely good manners. Something my order taker could learn from. We ordered a 12pc mixed family meal with rolls, coleslaw, mac n' cheese (my husband loves) & corn nuggets (ordered in addition). Everything was delicious. The chicken moist & flavorful (those giving 1 star saying the food is bland is obviously looking for a free meal because the food is consistently the same at every location including Beaumont). The rolls fluffy, great with the addition of honey btw & sides were good too. Overall we'll try again simply because the food was legitimately good.
