The food was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was great when we first walked in. However our waiter Miguel ignored us majority of the time. We walked in before 2 tables and he came to us last. I had to keep looking over at him. Then after we ordered our starters the table next to us ordered their starters and hot their food before we could even place our orders in which I had to look over at him once again. After our orders came out in which they had a runner bring it to the table. He stopped by maybe once to to see if everything came out. After that we never saw him at our table again. Finally when we sat there once again I had to look over because we were waiting for the check and containers. Finally he came over I wanted to make sure he knew everything we needed because he would go missing again and yet he still stopped at another table to see if they needed anything. He went and refilled that table’s drink while we once again had to wait. And finally he brings the check and wanted to be friendly for the tip. Now here’s my issue I use to be a waitress so when I go into restaurants there is a caliber of serves I expect because you have to earn your tip. I started to leave a written tip but instead I left him a monetary tip but on a $100 tip I left him $10 out of kindness but he did not deserve anything because the service was lacking to the 100th power. And there is only one thing I can think of for his reasoning but I will reframe from saying it because it only...
Read moreThe nauseating smell of bathroom cleaner is the first thing that hits you walking in, and is ever present in the restaurant. The service is 5 stars. The menu is very interesting, and if you want a burger, you'll be perfectly happy. The buns look fresh and have lots of topping choices. I'm more of a soup and sandwich diner, and the tomato soup I had was flavorful. In the past, I ordered tacos and a chicken salad, but found the meat full of gristle. I never intended to go back after the disappointing tacos, but my mom loves the shuffleboard there, so we hit it up for lunch. The board is not well maintained. The bucket of pucks was stored on the floor in the bar area and somehow got liquid in it. I didn't notice until I dumped the pucks onto the table. Ack! We had to grab a stack of napkins and soak up the water and dry the pucks. I don't know why the sawdust is kept locked up, so in the past, some dimwit put chalk on the table, so they have been cognizant of taking care of that. There was a previous dried up splash of water on the end of the board that might have been caused by water in the bucket, also. Maybe the puck bucket needs a lid or drain holes drilled into the bottom? The pool tables look like they might be due for a recovering, but they are in working order. There is a nice stage; looks like it would be a fun place to listen to music, if you can get past the strong...
Read moreIf you’re in the mood for Vietnamese food that goes beyond the ordinary, Sweet Basil Vietnamese Noodle House delivers in style. Walking in, you’re greeted by a warm, clean space that feels polished but never pretentious — bright enough to see every detail, cozy enough for relaxed conversation. The décor shows thought, the booths and tables are comfortable, and there’s just enough background hum to feel lively without being overwhelming.
What truly impressed me was the menu’s range and execution. Every visit offers something new, whether you’re leaning toward a steaming noodle bowl or exploring one of their fusion items. Drinks and small plates complement the bigger bowls, and the hot mess fries — bold, playful, generous — are a treat for anyone wanting something fun. Meanwhile, the classic Vietnamese soups and noodle dishes have heart: rich broths, fresh ingredients, and a sense of tradition.
Service is consistently friendly. Staff greet you with genuine warmth, check in at good intervals, and make you feel seen. Even when they’re busy, there’s no feeling of being just another number. It’s the kind of service that makes you slow down and enjoy the whole experience.
Sweet Basil strikes a rare balance: great food, inviting atmosphere, and service that cares. Without hesitation, five stars from me — this is a place I’ll return to...
