China Star Buffet — Restaurant in Beaumont

Unfortunately, I have to give this place 1 star based on me and my daughter's experience today. My family and I have been visiting this establishment even before the name change and have never had any complaints. However, it was not just that the food was okay but the terrible service my daughter and I received that made this the last time we will ever go there again. My family believe in treating everyone with respect, providing gratuity and I even stack our items and wipe the tables before leaving. Today, we had a waitress that continued provide service to everyone around even having time to stand and talk with others behind us informing them that "The "black girl" that used to work there quit but it didn't matter since she wasn't any good any". By the way this information was not even solicited by the customers. I asked the waitress if I could have a refill (after my daughter had tried to get her attention although she would continue to pass us by assisting and talking with everyone around us). She had such a negative demeanor that I informed the manager which was the first time I've ever felt the need to do so. The waitress then began yelling at us and said it not all about us and she had other customers. The she said "It is always YOU PEOPLE who are never happy and always complaining about somthing!" I replied, and there it is. I tried not to make it about race dispite the fact the we were the only African Americans in her section at the time and also the only whose table she continued to by pass. Management's stance was that it was her beliefs and had nothing to do with them. Well thank you China Star for showing us how little "We People" matter and for showing my 13 year old daughter her first real encounter with racism and ignorance. Happy President's Day...

We were wanting Chinese, as we haven't had it in over a year since we relocated. We were in Beaumont on errands so we decided to give China Star Buffett a try. We were both wanting Egg Rolls and they were really good here! I love Chinese Hot Mustard and had to ask. Our waitress brought us some from the condiment bar, I guess we didn't look that far, but she was very nice and helpful! I forgot how good real Hot Mustard was and over did it a little bit on my first bite! The horseradish or whatever it is the pit in it that makes it so spicy was right on the money! Once I took a breath and the spices fumes from the mustard went straight to the back of my head like someone had stuck a knife in me!!! Lol!!! I squinched and had years in my eyes!! My wife asked what was the matter? I told her I haven't had real Chinese Mustard in so long I forgot how hot it was!!! It's not a Hot Sauce kind of hot, it's very different as it goes directly to you olfactory senses in your nose then straight to the back of your head! It's almost painful!!! But, oh it was good! I just had to remind myself that it's not the milder mustard that you get in a jar from La Choy!!!😂 We really enjoyed the rest of our food. They're noodles, rice, and fried dumplings were very good. I got some General Sho's chicken and it was a little over fried, but ok. My wife got some Sushi from the Sushi bar and it was very good! The rest of everything was really pretty good! I wouldn't mind going back, we both had a very good...

Walked in the door and the hostess was ok then I asked for another booth she rolled her eyes then hollard for the waitress who was in the other room she came around the door I thought great she's eating and fixing to get me my drinks while her hands would be nasty from liking her fingers any ways I walked over to the bathroom look to see if there is any food ...nope she was just sitting there with her drink ..no.prob..k..right... got my plate sat down something is wrong with my husband...after me trying several nasty things on buffet.. crawfish pan hadn't been changed out so many little claws it was alot I've worked in seafood restaurant s ect.fish was spoiled ..so anywho my husband was watching one person he has worked restaurant s too ..I kept asking ???? He finally told me...When he first got here he went to wash his hands and the guy with the apron who he had been watch was in the bathroom ushing the bathroom with his apron on came out of stall dried his hands on his apron without washing hands (pee/poop) who knows what he had on them to have to dry them went on floor picked up dishes off tables and went over to the grill started grabbing food for customers then took off to cute up some veggies Without Him Washing His Hands....will never eat there saw a bunch of not cool stuff with the cooks busboy but the waitress did...
