Holy cow I'm in heaven!! I came here on impulse cos I was nearby and missed my bus, and ahhh. I ordered the chicken pad kee mao, tofu spring rolls, and an iced coffee and went to sit down while it cooked. The guy brought me out an iced water and a small container of ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY JUICY sweet and spicy chicken?! It was so saucy and crispy and good, with a nice bite to it! Then my food came out, and y'all... It's the best pad kee mao I've had in years, since my last favorite place moved two cities over 😭 I go to downtown food trucks all the time, and a lot of the Beaverton Thai restaurants, and this pad kee mao was the most delicious! I do wish it was spicier, but the flavor and the texture of the noodles was divine. The portion sizes are also amazing?!! I've never had spring rolls so big before, look at the size of it in my hand!! I was going to save those for dinner tonight, but I think I'll have to break into one of them right after this review, once I pause in stuffing my fave with the noodles 🤤🤤 And then?! Black Thai House is a hidden gem 💎 tucked away right off Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy next to Target. Both of the times I have come here (this will be a regular place to get Thai food from now on!!!) the service has been fantastic. The gentlemen that work here are kind, friendly & take care in making their food. They make sure to accommodate your requests to get your order perfect! 🤩

The food has been fresh, flavorful, crisp veggies, CRUNCHY spring rolls (not soggy or damp).

I got the drunken noodle, spring rolls & the Basil fried rice the spice was on point! I was sweating by the end of my meal 😂 but in a good way.

EDIT: the Basil fried rice was some of the best fried rice I've ever had. My fiancé had some too, he is a very particular about his food & he said it was "probably the best fried rice he has ever had!". My daughter also shares the love of Thai food with me & she said it was amazing.

I normally hold off on reviews until I tried a place several times and have enough experience to give constructive feedback. In this case, I want to give this spot a higher rating but the inconsistency in quality is what I think negatively impacts this cart the most. For example, their red curry can have a nice balance of desirable sheen of oil separation that I expect from traditional Thai curry, but at other times it is a deep pool and unpalatable. Additionally there are strange options like their oversized loose salad rolls stuffed with shrimp and no other option. Why? A tofo version would be perfect given you have a choice of proteins for everything else. The inconsistencies continue with the Pad thai medium that is sometimes flaming hot, sometimes mild, or sometimes nothing. This pattern carries over to many other entrees.
