Arrived around 6:30PM for 4 day stay and was greeted by the most friendly and helpful staff I’ve ever witnessed at a front desk. In contrast, we stayed at SpringHill Suites in Cedar City, UT on day one of our 12 day trip, staying at Marriotts the whole journey. The front desk clerk there was rude, impatient, disinterested, and seemed to not want an Asian staying there. When asked about a nearby steakhouse that delivers, was told “there are no steakhouses in Cedar City”. Google proved otherwise.
The rooms here are very clean and include a full fridge rather than the mini one in Utah. Cooking utensils are plentiful and clean. I hope to use the BBQ area and patio if we don’t go out to eat.The closet has to be seen to be believed; if you can’t get organized with its set-up, give up. Just one of many unlisted amenities that will make the stay very restful. I told Kyle at the front desk we may not leave.
Very dog friendly with jar of free treats at front desk. We are traveling with our rescue and feel completely welcome and appreciated. Kyle and his coworker were exceptionally helpful with a thousand “tourist” type questions and even fixed our malfunctioning TV. Used the very clean laundry room, which uses CC instead of quarters, thankfully. Looking forward to free “hot” breakfast which can include a breakfast sandwich or burrito, and is way above typical continental breakfast.
The only negative so far is the piles of dog poop in the dog area left behind by entitled dog owners who are too good to pick up their mess. Despite the fact that bags are provided, and the area is somewhat small, some dog owners abuse the amenity and make it hard for the rest of us. Take a flashlight at night! I suggested to the staff to mount security cameras and fine the...
Read moreThis new Towne Suites is conveniently located in the Portland suburb of Beaverton in an area with abundant retail within easy walking distance. It is also within short walking distance of the Max train station and a large bus station, making public transportation a breeze. You can easily get to downtown Portland and to the Airport for $2.50, as well as many other areas in Portland. If driving is your thing, it is also conveniently located near a highway within an easy drive from the Sunset Highway and about 15 minutes to I-5. The staff at this location are extremely friendly and went above and beyond to meet our needs. I have an extremely bad food allergy and made the unusual request of a new set of pots and pans, as the ones in my room had a lot of food residue on them that couldn't be cleaned off. (I often travel with a frying pan and a few utensils due to my allergy and I didn't expect them to be able to fulfill the request, but since it was a newer property I thought it couldn't hurt to ask.) Much to my surprise, they happily provided me with a brand new set of pans in the wrapper. I was beyond delighted. It is this kind of service that made us want to come back and our future trip is already booked. There is also a delightful fire pit out front where we met fellow travelers and invited friends and family to come visit - an added bonus for COVID-friendly socializing. Hint for fellow travelers - the rooms on the back of the hotel are quieter than the front due to highway noise, but it is a small price to pay for the friendliness of the staff, convenient location, cleanliness, comfort and many other benefits of this suburban property. Thank you for a wonderful visit...
Read moreWe stay at hotels about 300 nights a year. This Townplace is new, clean and modern. Nothing worn or dated as of the time of this review. The rooms are very efficient - but beds are comfortable and the kitchens so useful. They offer studios and 1 bdrms on a total of 4 floors. The elevators are fast and smooth. I appreciated that there are two and I never waited long for one or the other. They have a lovely gas fire pit and bbq area with taller tables and chairs - a small, clean pool out back and an exercise area - while I didn't use these amenities, I saw many families gather and use them. The breakfast is fairly typical Marriott fare, perhaps a little smaller area than some, but it is a high efficiency stay. There is a cracker barrel restaurant in the same parking lot and a great number of other food options within a very short distance - however, to get around you will need a car, use public transport, or other ride share option. It's about 30-45 minutes or so (depending on the day or time) from the Portland International Airport. The staff is friendly and helpful as is the management. Any issues are immediately resolved, which I appreciate. Getting into and out of the property can be a bit of a trick if you're from out of town, so I recommend asking staff for a bit of help with arriving or leaving to return to the hotel - just a helpful hint or two will make your travels a lot less challenging. I like this property and while this was our first stay, we've already...
