06/14/2025 (Sat) Cos Cake is truly a hidden gem! As soon as you enter, you're greeted by a large mural on the right wall featuring Chureito Pagoda, Mount Fuji, and cherry blossoms—a classic and stunning image often associated with Japan. It immediately catches the eye and sets the perfect tone for the experience.
The shop is small, yet it feels open and cozy, with a unified, elegant Japanese aesthetic that creates a relaxing and stylish atmosphere. The staff were all smiling and seemed to be enjoying themselves, creating a warm and cheerful environment. When I had trouble deciding at the self-service kiosk, a kind staff member helped me out—which I really appreciated!
I was also pleasantly surprised to spot a panel from Sakamoto Days—so fun to see a popular manga featured in a dessert shop!
I’ve never forgotten the taste of Sum Sum, which used to be in Ala Moana Center, and I’ve been searching for something like it ever since. Finding a place nearby that brought back that nostalgic feeling was such a happy surprise!
One of my favorite things is that you can choose the flavor of the taiyaki shell! I chose matcha-flavored taiyaki, filled with matcha soft serve and added sweet red bean paste. Though it wasn’t freshly made, the shell was nicely toasted and paired perfectly with the ice cream.🍦
There are still so many things I want to try on the menu. Cos Cake is a fun and satisfying dessert spot—highly recommended for anyone who enjoys the gentle sweetness of...

I’m so happy my husband found this place! They have my favorite flavors and so many great treats, it’s hard for me to choose one or two in one visit. It’s a fun, unique place with great staff! I also love that they celebrate Pride Month and support LGBTQ+.
My eye immediately caught the huge wall art inside when I entered. It’s beautiful! They also have a gashapon station and mini crane game. Plenty of inside seating with some outdoor seats.
They have one kiosk to place your order, or you can talk to the person working at the cashier. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They told us the man working in the kitchen only works on Saturdays, which is when he makes special treats like the Ube Japanese cheesecake! This is a good one! It’s very light and delicious, a perfect treat for Ube lovers.
Love matcha? No problem, they have so many matcha flavored treats. I went with the mini taiyaki matcha drizzle. It has a delicious Bavarian cream filling with matcha soft serve. Whoa - so good! I liked getting the mini taiyaki because I wanted to share. My husband enjoyed their coffee cold float! Their coffee is from down the street, so it’s local! And my daughter loved their chocolate taiyaki with Oreo crumble.
Their soft serve is so creamy - yum! This place is for those that love treats and matcha on the sweeter side, not the bitter/hint of sweet. These people know how to make delicious sweets....
Read moreThe pictures being shared here look lovely and I’m sure things are a lot better in the store. The farmers market booth is a different story. The pictures on the booth lead me to believe that they would have soft serve ice cream in a fresh made taiyaki cone. This didn’t seem that far fetched to me because there are ovens and ice cream at other booths in the farmers market. The ice cream was frozen before hand into a flat puck with a swirl designed imprinted on it, like a popsicle that was then put inside the cone. The cone was not freshly made, very cold and rubbery. I wish I took a picture because it really needs to be seen to be believed. And this weird imposter cone was $7.50! And I tipped because I thought it was going to real soft serve! My first thought when I got the cone was “oh no I got scammed”. I can see on the website that’s the price for their molded bar, but it did not say on the booth that you would get a molded bar instead of soft serve. Surely the owners can see how showing photos of the soft serve when they’re selling the bars is misleading. It was so bad tasting I couldn’t finish it. Very...
