If you are ever in town this is an establishment worth making a stop to experience. Especially if you have friends, family or children with you. If you are by yourself don't let that deter you from the opportunity it's generally well worth the visit! It's a bit pricy but I try to look at it in the sense that you are paying for both the show as well as the food that each chef brings to the grill! Naturally every chef is different so experiences may vary in that aspect.
From the moment you walk in there are many beautiful artworks to stand in awe of just at the very sight. There are multiple luxurious wooden designs on display as well as their very own Koi pond! Which you can even purchase Koi from the pond should you want one for a pet or anything else you would decide to do with them. Getting back on track though!
You will be able to distinguish the expertise of each chef as well as their experience on the job by watching them in their element. Not to say that any chef is better then another, but moreso to say that their experience in the field that they work shows in their craft as they perform their art before your very eyes! Creating the unique show, as well as delicious food you will soon enjoy!
If you are a regular then you will have surely figured out which chefs you preference by name and can request them specifically. That's at least what my dad would do when we would come there periodically years ago. The only downside of which would be of course having to wait for your selected chef of preference to get the chance to cook for you. Once they are freed up they will be making their way to the grill you are seated at to bring further enjoyment to your day!
Otherwise any chef will do in regard to getting a good meal as well as easily having leftovers to eat on for the next day or so depending on your appetite. Which on that same note the food tastes great even reheated or eaten cold which is an oddity in itself! As far as service goes; They are very kid friendly and family oriented so there shouldn't be a worry in regard to whether you should bring the children or family/friends. They are also very accommodating generally so anyone wheelchair bound should get to enjoy the show no differently then anyone else seated...
Read moreI want to start off to say that out hibachi chef was pretty cool. We came to eat here for my daughter’s birthday and even let them know it was her birthday. We spent A LOT and tipped accordingly (a reflection of money spent not of food or service), they did nothing related to the birthday and tht was very disappointing!! This was my daughters 13 year old celebration. I didn’t say anything to complain at the restaurant, but probably should have done so. I don’t think you should have to tell them more than twice about anything especially eating utensils. I had to get up and find my own chopsticks when our salads and appetizers came out. The hibachi food was not good at all. It was the sauce that tasted bad and ruined the flavor it was just way too over bearing salty and overly sweet. I mean we ate anyway, but not as much as normal and then leftovers went in the garbage. My stomach was rolling when we left. The food made me sick. The hibachi chef, catching the whole grill on fire was fun for the kids and he was funny, but I don’t think we’ll ever come back here because that was the only positive … the food just wasn’t worth it at all!! I could see how people who are from here and have never had good hibachi would be frequent here, but I imagine us moving around so much might have made us food snobs, but I really wanted to be fair with my review however this is an expensive restaurant and I expected better. Except for after dinner I had asked others how they liked the hibachi and everyone agreed the sauce was not good at all.I wish we had take our daughter ANYwhere else for her birthday, this was a big let down and the highest tab I have ever had and I wish they would of at least acknowledged our the special occasion. I came here because of videos I seen other people post on social media taking their kids for a birthday and our experience was nowhere...
Read moreWe had been to the restaurant in Charleston, and someone had mentioned to us that we should try the one in Beckley, West Virginia. We stopped by about 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon and there were just a few cars in the parking lot. We went in, and the first thing we noticed was the amazing woodwork carvings of chairs, tables, and other trees. There was also a pond with goldfish in it, which I didn't expect. My first impression was that this is a cool restaurant! They seated us at the table with the grill across from a full party of people, both adults and kids. The floor was a mess, litered with food from where the chef had dropped food while preparing their meals. Our chief was nice, did all the little tricks, played with the fire, and then prepared our food. The food was above average but not what I had experienced from other Japanese restaurants. There was no free shrimp to try out, and the scramble egg that is cooked with the rice was left in large clunky pieces that I pulled to the side. We had the Filet Mignon with rive and noodles without the vegetables, and the quantity of food was huge. We took 2 Togo boxes home and had some for later that night, which helped offset the cost of the meal. We both enjoyed the food, the atmosphere was very good with all the carvings, the waitress and chief were very friendly and had worked there many years. Like I said, we were traveling through, so the stop helped the trip go smoother, we stretched our legs and got out of the car for about an hour. The experience was fun, the food was okay but we probably would not return if we lived in the area but I'm glad we...
