This is probably the hardest putt putt course I’ve played. I’ve been to quite a few but the one that just so happens to be in my town seems to be the hardest. I don’t see that as a problem though. The course contains a few neat things about WV and the theming is interesting. My only complaints are that the course could use some maintenance. I noticed the church on 1 hole that used to lead to the bottom was blocked because I’m assuming because it got clogged or something. Plus, nobody mentioned this, but if you are a left handed player like myself, there are quite a few parts of this course that aren’t lefty friendly. Even the first hole you need to stand on bricks to get a straight shot across the bridge left handed. A few parts are even dangerous to hit fair left handed so unless you want to risk getting hurt, be prepared to move the ball out to play or have to hit right handed. There are way less parts that aren’t righty friendly. I am assuming that was an oversight. Other than that though, it is a fun, albeit very challenging putt...
Read moreI took my family of five here and we had an amazing time! This mini golf course is not only fun but also packed with rich West Virginia history, which added such a unique touch to the experience. Each hole had its own personality—creative, challenging, and really well thought-out. I especially loved the historical names and facts at each hole—they made the course feel like a fun learning adventure.
My only suggestion would be to refresh some of the paper signs and fact sheets, as a few were weathered and hard to read. It would be great to see that info more clearly because it adds so much to the experience.
The place is family-owned, and you can feel the heart in it. They also offer rock climbing, which looked like a blast—definitely something I’d love to try next time!
And of course, who doesn’t love ice cream at the end of a game?
If I ever find myself back in WV, I’ll be sure to stop by again. 10/10—highly recommend for families, couples, or anyone looking for a fun and...
Read moreWhen visiting the Beckley area, we had some time before we had to check in to our hotel and decided to stop in at Mountain State for some miniature golf. The girl working the counter told us that a school was trip was finishing up (this was on a Thursday) and recommended we come back in 30-45 minutes, which we did. When we came back, we were able to get in to play immediately. The prices were reasonable. We had a lot of fun and loved how each was themed around West Virginia's history/special places. The holes were challenging, especially the turnpike one, so do plan to spend some time there but they were very fun to play. My husband got a hole-in-one which made him eligible to spin the prize wheel. His spin landed on the same number as the hole he got the hole-in-one on and he won a free game! There is a coffee/ice cream shop in the same building and while we didn't try it, it looked delicious and the prices seemed reasonable. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the...
