The only thing that differentiates this restaurant to other cheaper Mexican restaurants is they have a wider selection of meals on their menu. However none of it taste homemade. It all taste like it came frozen, they thaw it, sautéed it, and put it on the hot iron skillet for you to receive the appearance of a sizzling hot homemade meal. Really you could buy those iron plates heat them up to 500° in your oven and then sauté frozen Mexican dinners from the grocery store and dump it on the iron plate and have a meal that taste just as good. Food is all about ambience and presentation with this restaurant not quality. We had the pork Carnitas they were good, but once again you can buy frozen already seasoned pork and make your own Carnitas very easily. Pico to Gallo comes in a glass jar at Kroger‘s and rice and beans come in a microwavable pouch on the same aisle at the grocery store. Probably not worth $10 unless you just don’t want to go grocery shopping and do dishes. Also ordered Fajitas del Mar Which included shrimp and scallops with bell peppers onions and tomatoes. Mostly I got a plate of bell peppers, onions and tomatoes with scallops half an inch big and shrimp an inch big. Once again you could buy scallops and shrimp (much larger and fresher) and sautéed them with some already frozen diced onions and peppers and have the same meal but much higher quality seafood. I also hate it when restaurants don’t post prices on the drink menu. Yester waiter several times with the cost of several different drinks were and he couldn’t tell us the single one then he went and asked the bartender I came back with a price and then went back to the bartender and came back and said never mind this is actually the price I don’t think anybody there even knows what each of the drinks cost. I also hate it when restaurants don’t post prices on the drink menu. We asked our waiter and he had no idea, so he asked the bartender. The bartender responded “I don’t know what any of these drinks cost. I’d have to ring them up and then cancel the order out to find out. So I’m sorry I can’t answer your question.” We asked well what’s the price range of your margaritas? Response: “they range from about $5-$15”. Well if you have 2 people and we each order 2 margaritas & they happen to be the $15 a piece margaritas......then I’m going to be ticked when I have a $60 bar tab b/c no one could tell us the cost of a...
Read moreAll I can say is: Wow! The food is the best Mexican style food I have ever had.
The building has a clean and modern look both inside and out. The staff is very friendly and prompt. We were seated immediately and had our drinks and chips within just a minute or two. The wait time was very short.
The staff are all dressed very professionally and act in a professional manner as well.
The menus are available through a QR code on the table which is more frugal and environmentally friendly than the disposable ones many restaurants in the area have implemented since covid, and I am glad to see it. I am sure that one can ask for a physical copy, though I can't confirm as I am fine using the tech-friendly version, thus did not ask.
The complimentary chips come with salsa and a ranchero type dip. Both are delectable with just the right amount of heat.
Today, I had the Chef's Special; delicious grilled chicken, rice, onions, pico de gallo, tortillas, and--get this--waffle fries. What?! Everything was individually excellent, and just as good when combined. The grilled chicken may be some of the best I have ever had--full of flavor and juicy.
I also had a Mango Margarita and it...
Read moreVery nice restaurant – good food – friendly staff – good price This restaurant is right off the West Virginia Turnpike and WV 3 on the southeast corner of the intersection. There is a large parking lot that covers three sides of the restaurant. It appears that this location has a drive-through if you don’t want to dine in. The outside and inside of the restaurant are absolutely beautiful. We were staying at a nearby hotel and this place was recommended to us. We walked in and were seated immediately. The restaurant has a bar as soon as you enter the front door. Most of the tables appeared to be booths. We were in a booth across from the bar. The booths are large and the seats are comfortable. The waiter was very pleasant and delivered chips and salsa and took our drink order. We ordered the 3 tacos. We also ordered churros for dessert. Both the dinner and the churro came out quickly, were delicious, and were all presented very well. The waiter was very pleasant and the price was reasonable for the food, staff, speed, and ambiance. I am glad that we came and recommend this location to my fellow travelers...
