Coffee Tea & Books — Restaurant in Bedford

I want to give this a full 5 stars because the workers are truly awesome! They are super kind, great customer service, and they take their time with the drinks!

However I have to leave this review specifically for the owner. I’m assuming she was the owner because they typically are the rude ones (which she was) because I guess once you own a place your customer service goes out the window? I believe she was bragging about other places she owns too.

I’ve been here numerous times and have bought drinks on different occasions without problem. This one particular day she wanted to show herself and came up to me while I was working (I hadn’t bought anything this day) and asked me if I was going to buy anything. I politely declined and she stood there and stared at me. Then continued to ask me before telling me that they don’t allow people to use their WiFi that aren’t paying customers. If she had done this politely I would’ve just gotten up and purchased something right then and there (which I started to do). But then I said you know what I’m not going to reward her rude behavior. So I decided to just go outside and sit in my car and use their wifi anyway 😊. It was nice to see her pull up next to me too so I know she knows. And I hope she reads this because despite your attitude It still didn’t work. So not only did I continue to use the wifi but I will never set foot in her little shack of a coffee shop again.

I wanted to love this place, but couldn't, it was just ok. The concept is fabulous but the execution is not. The food: I had coffee cake and an iced Chai. The coffee cake was delicious, the chai was not. I was served the cake first and waited too long for the Chai. It was supposed to be iced but had warm spots and the ice was all melted. The atmosphere: The speaker for their music was too loud and on top of the bookshelf area. They may have been trying to drown out the sounds of the rage room next door. The book concept is great, like an honor system library for most selections, the atmosphere to read the books could improve. They also had games and puzzles which was cool. The...

I love that Bedford has the best Third Places. Coffee Tea & Books is definitely my new favorite Third place here in Bedford. The owner is so kind and helpful. And she remembers her customers. As I sat here knitting, waiting for my chai to be made, she remembered the customers who came in and remembered their orders. She chatted with them while brewing my chai, and assisting the other person working.

The environment is peaceful and she has a lovely lending library with games. If you haven’t stopped by yet, you absolutely should. This...
