I have loved twisted root for years and it was my favorite hamburger place for a very long time. I moved out of the area and it’s been a very long time since I’ve been able to go back, maybe 7 years or so. Last night, I took my family to eat here. Not much appearance wise has changed, which isn’t a bad thing but I noticed the menu and options changed a lot. The options for the burgers is nothing like they used to offer besides the protein options. We all get burgers besides my dad who gets a salad. We get our food - my burger is drier than the Sahara Desert. The topping that I had to pay extra for were all cold (jalapenos, red peppers) which was not a great contrast with the runny egg I ordered. My burger came out to around 16.00. My dad received his salad with the ranch mixed in but it did not appear to have ranch so we asked the Twisted Root team for more. She said it would be .75 for a ranch. I said “well it’s for the salad and there really isn’t any dressing on the salad” and she proceeded to tell me that they toss it theirselves and we have to pay for more if we don’t think it’s enough. So we bought two little containers that were half filled for 1.50 plus tax which doesn’t make a lot of sense when you factor in the amount that the cc companies take out for merchant fees, the plastic used to store the ranch, etc. Now we are down to the famous pickle bar which I was most excited about bringing my daughter for but unfortunately the pickles were not good and I’m not really sure what they are doing with the pickles to make them so far off.. maybe some kind of syrup? Not one single pickle was enjoyable and we are pickle connoisseurs! Really sad to see this place change up what was good about it. I probably wouldn’t have left a review had the ranch debacle not been a thing but bad food on top of bad service on top of soaring prices with so many great burger places around deserves to give the audience a second thought...
Read moreThis place is amazing! Their food is fresh, and the atmosphere is super comfortable and laid back. It's the perfect place to get a quick bite of quality food, they don't even have a freezer on the premises so you know their food is fresh! It accommodates parties of all sizes perfectly. If you are alone and don't want to sit alone at a table that's fine they have bar seating. They also have several long tables that can seat upwards of 15-20 people. Not to mention they have indoor as well as outdoor seating. Usually places with this good of food have so many rules, reservations, and seating it can get daunting to eat out if you want good food and this place makes that possible. You place your order at the counter and after that, you're on your own free to sit where you like and only get bothered one time when they bring you your food, which is quick even when busy. Of course, I would not recommend this place to the people who need guidance at every step and aren't able to do anything themselves. For everyone else, this is your place!! They have 6 different kinds of pickles cut up and marinated for you to snack on while you wait for your food, which will not be long because they are super quick! I love how this place is different and gives your palette a different taste! I have never seen the pickles as snacks before and even though I'm not a huge fan I loved it, and of course, they are free... oh and their millionaire burger is totally worth it! Just make sure you are super hungry because...
Read moreCame in today, 10/19/2024, at 8:50pm. and immediately noticed that all the sauces/condiments were put up already, and almost half the seating was not available anymore. Right when walking in, we felt rushed by the cashier. We didn't get a welcome or anything, just a "the menu is right there." We placed our order, and #1 had to remind them of our cups for our drinks and #2 for our fried pickles that were sitting at the window for a while already and were given to us under warm in temp (probably forgot because they were all back there chitchatting). I asked the young lady that took our order to see if I could have some of their sauces that they have for everyone to use, and she proceeded to tell me "no, because we already cleaned the containers." Keep in mind it was 9:10pm when I asked for the sauces. They didn't even close till 10pm. Also, a lady came inside at around 9:20pm. and asked, "Are yall still open?" (That just gives you an idea of how the atmosphere was inside), and the cashier proceeds to tell her "soon." And then asked the cook."Are we still open?" It's clearly 9:20, NOT 10pm. They made the lady feel bad and rushed. The customer reponded back with, "I just wanted a burger, nothing else." The service was ridiculous. I get it people want to clean and go home early, but hey, it's a restaurant and a business. Closing time is 10 pm! Not 9 pm! Worst service at any Twisted Root place...
