I went in this evening to finally try their boba tea but was greeted with an extremely rude employee. As I entered the store there was one other customer who was trying to remember what she had ordered the previous visit. She was kindly asking the employee to help her determine what the drink was called. Instead of assisting he responded with an attitude behind each comment. He was clearly annoyed with the customer and she was unsure how to navigate the situation. As she continued to try to explain what was in her previous drink he continued to respond with “I don’t know what that is”. After she gave up and decided on something else he said he would take my order first and then go make our drinks. As I stepped up to the counter that had plenty of space I began asking him a question about how exactly to order my drink. He interrupted me to rudely (verbally and non verbally) ask the other customer to move out of the way so I could pay. We weren’t even to that step yet and it didn’t really bother me but he clearly showed it in his face and words that it irritated him. I finally got to place my order and he promptly went to making our drinks. He then quickly came back, gave us our drinks and straws, and disappeared to the back. The other customer kindly called out to him asking if he could remind her of the name of the drink so she could take note for next time. He didn’t respond and when she thought maybe he couldn’t hear her she called a little louder. There was no music on and we were the only customers in the store. You could have heard a pin drop. I waited a minute to see if he would finally come back up to remind her since he seemed so irritated at the beginning that she couldn’t remember but he continued to blatantly ignore her. This was most likely my first and last visit here no matter how good the tea was. The experience I had left a bad taste...
Read moreMost staff are very friendly but the service is slow and if I go four times a week my order is typically incorrect twice. Multiple times I've been inside and seen people walk out because it was taking too long or nobody came to the front.
The worst thing is that sometimes they seem to use the shop as a daycare for one of their kids and he is not very well behaved/disciplined and frequently bangs toys all over or runs around and yells, making it hard to have a conversation or read, effectively ruining the atmosphere. I feel bad for him as he seems hyperactive or needs constant attention...but that shouldn't be something guests of the shop have to put up with (he also frequently puts the shop in violation of health code by wandering in the kitchen).
I like this shop and the people just because it is a little different but I wouldn't recommend it as a reliable place to go to relax or hang out or if you care if your order is correct/you value your time. As other people mentioned also, the prices are kind of high and the...
Read moreWent here yesterday with a friend for tea. He ordered for us both as I had to step out to take a call. I wanted a mango green tea with half ice and no boba which is what my friend ordered. The guy who works there, the one who is ALWAYS there, needs not only customer service training but making a proper mocha frappe training too. He brought out a mango milk tea to my friend but he didn’t order that. I’m lactose intolerant so he would never have ordered that. When my friend said the guy got it wrong, that guy denied it and argued with my friend. Then he made the correct drink but still charged my friend for the milk tea which was more expensive. Two other times I went and ordered mocha frappes and both times they came out like chocolate slushies. Learn your job, man. I’m NEVER going back. This place used to be great. We used to take our kids once a week after school. But this was BEFORE that guy or his parents bought the place. When it was still called Holey Boba and Donuts. That husband and wife team knew what great customer...
