Long review alert! My daughter and I had THE BEST experience at Moonlight Cakes when ordering her wedding cake! I ran in there one day on my lunch break in a panic when I realized a friend wasn’t going to be able to make the cake my daughter showed her. The young man that greeted me listened patiently to my story and assured me they could help us out. He was able to get us set up with a consultation appointment the weekend my daughter was coming home from college, Easter weekend. We felt as if we were their one and only customer. It was a busy day in the bakery and we were taken to a private room where everything was explained to us in great detail by Susan, (owner) and we had our taste test. Not once did we feel rushed, and everything we sampled was amazing! My daughter showed a picture of what she wanted and selected the flavors she wanted. We had a follow up appointment with Susan two weeks before the wedding to give our final headcount and confirm the flavors. The day of the wedding, Holly arrived early with the cake. She wanted to be there when the florist arrived since we requested fresh hydrangeas on the cake. I found out later that Susan called the florist to confirm their arrival time so she could make sure the cake was there when the florist arrived. When I saw the cake after such great detail that Holly took on cutting and placing each flower, I teared up. It was simply beautiful and looked identical to the picture my daughter showed at our first appointment! I could not wait for my daughter to see her cake! I hugged Holly and thanked her so much! When my daughter first saw her cake, it took her breath away and she was in awe at the beauty! It was finally time to cut the cake: 1st layer - white almond, 2nd layer - strawberry, 3rd layer - lemon. We used Moonlight Cakes for our wedding cake and wedding cupcakes. First of all, their cakes and cupcakes taste AMAZING! We tasted cakes from endless other places, and nothing even came close to how delicious Moonlight’s are, not to mention the numerous flavor options! Our guests are still commenting on how delicious everything was. Second, our wedding cake was stunning. They were so patient and kind during the design process and they worked with me until they were able to make my vision come to life perfectly. They are also extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and easy to work with. During our first meeting they gave us important information about buttercream vs fondant for colors and design elements that none of the other bakeries we had visited had told us. In addition, we needed gluten free cupcakes for family members with celiac, and since they don’t have a gluten free kitchen they not only referred us to a bakery nearby that could make them for us, but also picked them up, delivered them, and included them in the display so we didn’t have to do any extra work. Finally, Moonlight Cakes was affordable and they worked with us to make sure we stayed within our budget, including suggesting ideas like fake cake layers (still frosted like the rest of the cake). They truly cared about creating our perfect wedding cake, but also making sure it was one we could afford. I can't thank Moonlight Cakes enough for their incredible service and sense of humor! My brother Mitch lost a bet and had to dress up in an outrageously silly Donald Duck costume to deliver cupcakes to a client. From the moment he walked in, the staff at Moonlight Cakes were amazing. They were in on the joke and made sure Mitch was blushing with embarrassment the entire time. Mitch looked absolutely ridiculous with his oversized beak, floppy hat, and fluffy duck tail. His bright yellow tights and oversized duck feet had everyone in stitches (see pictures). He pranced around, flapping his wings and quacking, much to the delight of everyone in the shop.

The staff couldn't have been more accommodating, making sure the scene was as hilarious as possible. They even played along, calling out, "Donald, your cupcakes are ready!" The cupcakes themselves were fantastic, beautifully decorated and incredibly tasty. Our client was equally amused and delighted by the surprise delivery and delicious cupcakes!

Moonlight Cakes made what could have been a simple bet payoff into an unforgettable experience filled with laughter. If you're looking for a place with great treats and even better customer service, Moonlight Cakes is the spot. Highly recommended for any occasion!

Mitch has a couple more delivers to fulfill his lost bet and I hear that the staff at Moonlight Cakes would love to have him back! I hope Moonlight invites...
