On 3/5/25 my friends and I visited Honey Grow in Bel Air. While this is usually a restaurant we frequent and have great service, yesterday was quite different. First; we weren’t greeted when entering the restaurant and it seemed that was because the employees were having conversations amongst themselves. Secondly; while placing our orders of two sesame ginger bowls and a salad all 3 of us were very specific in asking for special cooking instructions. For example: I asked specifically for my food to be cooked well done. My friend who ordered a salad specifically asked for Feta Cheese. Once our food was finished and given to us. We sat at the tables in the lobby to begin to enjoy our food. I took one bite and couldn’t believe what I was eating. The noodles in my bowl were hard and crunchy. Chewing was so hard and unenjoyable. My friend opened her salad to find it covered in blue cheese that she is is allergic to and didn’t ask for. My other friends bowl was under cooked as well. Both bowls were like warm and not hot. Usually I have to blow my food once it comes off the stove from being cooked. We all went back to the front to express our issues with our meals and the staff let us know they would remake them. However, I did not feel a satisfaction because of the attitudes from staff that came behind us expressing concerns about food we ordered and Paid for. As we sat down for a second time to try our now remade food. I requested to write a review of the store. As a cashier reached to hand me a business card, another woman aggressively approached the table my friends and I were sitting eating at to insist that we were wrong for mentioning that our food was prepared correctly. She went on to make false accusations of my friends and I. When I asked her to please leave us be to enjoy our meals she refused to walk away from our table. It was as if she wanted to create some form of confrontation with us paying customers. I know I have the right to write a review. To be treated in such a poor manner left a very bad taste for Honey Grow in my mouth. I hooe this issue is addressed and they can be trained on how to better service...
Read moreGREAT FOOD BUT!!! Unfortunately bad atmosphere. This place is built using the long in the tooth "modern" and AWFUL trend of hard floors with an open metal ceiling, between the amplifying effect of that construction, the woks clanging in the kitchen, LOUD MUSIC making stir fry, orders being yelled back, and ready for pick up, and the requirements of patrons and employes alike have to be on the verge of screaming just to communicate. The loudness of the environment, well frankly it's deafening and inhospitable. Tonight I went in and it was extremely busy, there was so much sensory overload with the sound, I started developing a migraine as soon as I was heading out the store with my order. If you have a child on the spectrum this will set them off in short order. I wouldn't be surprised if employees develop headaches and migraines often, hearing loss, and or tinnitus, which would be very unfortunate.
Also on an unrelated note, why isn't calorie count listed on the screen? That's just stupefying in a restaurant that only takes orders via kiosk or app.
I know these issue aren't an issue for this particular restaurant, but for the business as a whole, however since this location is brand new, I've noticed what I can only assume is corporate employees in around lunch time overseeing the roll out. Hopefully they will see this too.
PS. I am giving a 1 star review to get the attention of the powers at B. Once they respond, I will change my rating back up to a 4 or 5 star, because I do really enjoy the food, I just had the environment inside the...
Read moreFirst time at HoneyGrow, and this location is new having opened only a few days ago. In spite of the busy crowd, the ordering process was quick and efficient with plenty of self-service kiosks (5) to use. And it didn't take long for our order to be ready.
So, some observations: the music is too loud. The clanking of the pots/pans is expected, I suppose. As is the shouting of the orderers name. Consequently, the music could be turned down a bit.
For our first time (dinner) my wife and I each did a create-your-own stir fry. There were plenty of ingredients to choose from, each item clearly stated the adfitional cost, if any, and your add-ins showed up on the side as you ordered allowing you make changes as you built your meal. I'll attach a screen shot of our ingredients list so you can see what we had.
Good amount of shrimp, cooked perfectly. The roasted garlic (whole cloves) were outstanding. And all of the various vegetables were fresh and delicious, especially in the sauces we picked. The chili crisps: hot and crunchy, DELICIOUS.
So, I think it's a little pricey, but for the quality, freshness, and ease of customizing, I think HoneyGrow has become my favorite Bel Air restaurant! (BUT, $2.50 for one-size fountain soda is crazy... unless you're dining-in and sharing!)
I'm not sure yethow the rewards program will work out, but I joined before coming. It made the ordering process so easy, and I'm pre-order...
