My husband and I went to One Eleven main for our first time this past Saturday for dinner. We called for reservations earlier in the day and were very pleased the host was able to reserve a table for us, despite the same-day inquiry.
We arrived a few minutes early, prepared to get a drink at the bar before dinner because we were early but were, again, pleased they were able to seat us upon arrival.
The menu is very limited, and highly priced... For small plates, my husband got the seafood gumbo (not on the menu but a special for the evening.) I ordered the half size charcuterie board. My husband thought his gumbo was delicious, while my charcuterie board was underwhelming. The salami featured was good (four mini-pepperoni sized slices,) the ham patƩ was not good, and prosciutto was fine.
I ordered a Cosmo to drink, and it was strong and tasty. My husband ordered a signature cocktail that he drank without enjoying... It tasted like Robitussin.
For main courses, my husband got the red snapper and I got the seafood trio special (half Maine lobster, two pan seared scallops, one 4oz crab cake.) My husband loved his meal, and again I was disappointed with mine. For a price of $53, each of the seafood trio should have been incredible. The crab cake was delicious, but the scallops were bland and the lobster thermidor just wasn't good. I had my husband taste the lobster and he didn't like it either.
We shared a bread pudding for dessert, which we both agreed was very good. (The bacon in the ice cream was needless)
All in all, we decided we won't be back because, with prices as high as one eleven main, all dishes should be incredible. While the ambiance was romantic, the server was attentive and very nice (albeit a little slow), and some menu items tasty, the food just was not worth the $186 tab...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy fiancee and I went here for dinner one night to celebrate a special occasion and we had a fantastic time! I think the atmosphere, the service and the food/drinks is what we loved the most about our fully great experience that we had here! He called ahead to make a reservation and when we showed up we only had to wait a few minutes for them to clear a table for us right up front where the bay windows are facing Main Street. Our waitress was wonderful, made good suggestions for the food and drinks we ordered and was on top of making sure we had everything we needed. The menu is on the smaller side with choices, but everything sounded so good and we had such a great experience that we definitely plan on going back in the future! I ordered the grilled filet minon with 2 scallops on the side, per our waitresses recommendation and it was by far one of the best steaks I've had to date! My fiancee ordered the House Pappardelle Shrimp & Crab. To top it off, they had all night happy hour (we dined on a Thursday evening), where all classic cocktails were half off - yes, HALF OFF! We like ourselves some cocktails and really enjoyed them; he got a couple old fashions and I got a couple pisco sours. The have an in-house mixologist and he really seemed to know his stuff. We ended up sitting at the bar for a bit after our meal sipping another drink and chatting it up with him and some other people who worked there. They were great! Our bill was a little over $100 for the both of us (I think we each ended up having 2 or 3 drinks each), so plan to fork out a little bit more than your typical restaurant visit; we considered it well worth it!! We look forward to visiting again...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOne Eleven Main was a great dinner and we will definitely be returning! Expect to spend just around $50 a plate, with small plates around $20. The cocktail list was well populated and the serving staff very knowledgeable of it's intricacies. Highly recommend trying out this restaurant in Bel Air! We started with a reservation and recommend doing so as when we got there the space is small with tables very tactfully placed for the most tables. This does mean you're an arms length from others, but the atmosphere was pleasant and at moments loud, but nothing that created a bad sense of experience. Our waitress, Bridget, was excellent and fully versed us in recommendations of both food and drink and added pairings to answer my questions as we planned our order. Under low light, the candle at your table offers great ambience, but I would've preferred a nudge more light for each individual table. Tablescapes were set great and bread was served as we waited for our meals to be made. I ordered the Blackened Pork Tenderloin and it was fantastic; perfectly cooked, with risotto, spinach, and lump crab on top. The thing I noticed right away was the size of the portion was a full plate - larger than I've received at similar restaurants. And it was all excellent! My recommended pairing of wine to the pork was spot on and truly made for a great experience. I actually was too full to go with dessert, but the offerings were also made in house and sounded delicious as well. We will definitely be returning...
