Buontempo Brothers Pizza — Restaurant in Bel Air

Stopped in tonight- 4/14/23 for a 16" Pepperoni pizza, and a cheesesteak sub with fries. Cheesesteak and pizza both about average- cheesesteak had a decent sub roll, although it was a bit small on portion size. The pizza was average. A good crisp crust, but very average sauce, cheese, and pepperoni. Probably not where I'd go to get pizza again. The French fries were easily the worst French fries I've had in Harford County. One giant paper sleeve of greasy, undercooked- at-a-low-oil temperature, lump of terrible fries. Also very important to note that we ordered carry out, and ate fries out of the bag as we walked out of Buontempo's. It's not like we waited 20 minutes to eat and the fries aged and lost their crisp. We ate them piping hot, as we walked out the door with our order. If I'd been a bit less rushed I would have turned around and questioned the quality. Instead I decided in the moment that I'd rather review them fairly, for their effort in the moment, knowing we would walk out of the store after getting the carryout bag. Personally I would characterize our visit as a letdown from a carryout with a good reputation. Unlikely that I'd return, as the fries were truly without exaggeration, the worst thing I've eaten in 11 years since we moved here. No shade- I'm sure loads of people have great food here, but tonight was not one of those...

I had an unexpected meeting with a friend in Belair MD, a place I have little knowledge of. So my friend offered to buy me lunch and I'm never one to turn that down so we ended up going to Bontempo Brothers Pizza. Had two pieces of pizza a sausage that was quite good and I would have it again if I were to go there perhaps except! I also had a slice that had a combination of Italian hams, a white sause pizza as a matter of fact. It was one of the best slices I have ever had in my life and I can't recommend it enough. Additionally the staff stopped by to check on us four times during the hour that we were there and really seemed concerned that we were enjoying our pizza and wanted to make sure that if we want anything else available they would be glad to get it. The attention was not intrusive, really well handled and combining that with that terrific pieces of pizza I cannot recommend this place more. It is just superb. No idea what's it cost for lunch was but there was quite a crowd there by the time we left so my suspicion is that tab was quite reasonable. Absolutely dookie dog water customer service... I've experienced bad customer service before but wow... It's so bad I'd put it up there with Buffalo Wild Wings it was so bad.... Walked in not greeted once by an associate, while at least 12 other people stood unorganized all over the "order here" area making me have no idea who was in line. Stood past it near pick up area for about 20 minutes hoping one of the associates would do their job asking people if they had been helped or needed anything... Nah man then after 20 minutes one asked me if I needed help. Told the man yes I'd like to put in an order. Says ok I'll be back with you. Gone another 10 minutes. Meanwhile plenty of other people have come and gone. Was even told by a customer "you have to be aggressive to order"... Couldn't even tell you how the food was because apparently people don't exist to make orders unless you call over the phone.... So couldn't even get food... I just walked out after 30 minutes of waiting.. I'd rather spend money on businesses who actually acknowledge their customers when...
