I’ve known this place since it opened 20+ years ago. Used to be a great place to work when Scott owned it. The owner, Debbie, is no peach to work for. I quit working there long time ago because of the way she talks to people. She gets so nasty and talks down to people. Now, I put that all aside and told my daughter it’s a great place to work, just try to stay away from Debbie. Debbie seems to only like the people she can control, which is the majority of her staff from the halfway houses in Bel Air. So today, my daughter gets fired for being honest. Last week, my daughter was mopping the floor and she put the last tip ($10) that was on a table in her pocket, finished mopping, and then handed it to Kevin. Mind you, this is all on video. Today, they fire her saying it looked suspicious. How so? Even Kevin said she handed it to him. Sounds to me Debbie was just looking for an excuse because like I said, she only likes the people she can control. My daughter, trying to stand up for herself asks how is what she did wrong when another one of the servers kept a $100 tip and did not put it in the tip jar? Danny, who was given the job to fire my daughter, I’m guessing because Debbie is by no means a good boss, responds with I’m going to have to talk to everyone because that shouldn’t be happening. So…I’m confused, you fired the person that was honest? And everyone else gets away with stealing tips? Someone please explain to me how this...
Read moreThis morning, my husband and I were waiting outside of the restaurant for the door to be unlocked for the dining room side. We noticed the other door to place and pick up to go orders was unlocked but didn’t really think anything of it as we knew that the dining room door would be opened eventually.
One of the supposed managers (according to my husband) got very rude with us and another couple behind us because instead of going in the other door for takeout and pick up, we waited by the dining room door instead. Very loudly, he asked “Why didn’t you come in the other door like everyone else? Did you not see them?” I just shrugged my shoulders because I was uncomfortable in the moment. Next, he asked, “Seriously? You didn’t see all of these people?” as he gestures his arms outwards pointing at every other person that was in the restaurant.
I felt embarrassed and became extremely frustrated as my husband and I thought we were doing the right thing by waiting outside of the appropriate door. He didn’t need to get rude or embarrass us the way he did. It was not appropriate nor professional on his part.
The waitress was super kind and the food was delicious as always, but the experience that occurred with this manager put a bad taste...
Read moreFood is good, and definitely a great place to pick up food to go. It has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff at the registers are always nice. On the weekends they are busy. You expect to wait to sit and for food, but overall it is still good. I've been many times and it has been great. I'm not sure if it is a weekday problem, or an individual server issue, but I won't be back on a weekday. It wasn't busy so they had the seat yourself sign up. A server asked what I wanted to drink and I ordered coffee and a water. They then told me I was to "help myself" for coffee. I had to get up from my table and pour myself a cup of coffee. They took my food order, dropped the food and check off together, and then only came back to take my plate away. When they asked if I was finished I still had a decent amount of food on my plate, but I was full so I said yes. Without another word the sever took the entire plate away without asking if I wanted a box. Very curt and rude. I can understand if the place was busy, but it was dead. Everything about the way the server addressed (and didn't address) me said they just didn't care.
It was the second worst service...
