Rossa Room Speakeasy — Restaurant in Bellaire

We were introduced to this restaurant by a friend and decided to return with another group. I made a reservation a day in advance and received a confirmation the morning of our visit, which seemed promising. However, just two hours before our scheduled time, I received a message that our reservation had been cancelled due to a private event.

This was incredibly frustrating. Did they not know about the private event when they confirmed my reservation earlier that day? Or did they choose to cancel our table for three in favor of a larger party? Either way, the last-minute notice left us scrambling for alternatives. Made my reservation on Open Table, before going I read all the details….paying particular attention to the dress code (casual). The day of I got a text from I think a manager confirming and just asking a few follow up questions and everything seemed good to go.

When we arrived, we were dressed causal and walked to our table by the hostess. As we were seating a gentleman came up to us and said “unfortunately” we couldn’t stay because we were out of dress code. I told him that Open Table stated casual and he said well they had new management and we couldn’t stay.
