My husband and I wanted to love this place. The atmosphere is so cute and we were excited when we first saw it last night. However, we walked in a few minutes after 6pm and all the chairs were flipped on the tables already (like places do when it is closed). I asked the cashier "You guys DO close at 7pm right?" She said "Oh yeah. We do. We just put the chairs up on the table to sweep for the night." A place doing this 10 minutes before closing , I would understand but an hour before?! Then, we ordered 2 paninis. My husband and I were the only two in the place and it took 40 minutes to bring us out 2 paninis. 40 minutes! We were already annoyed because now we knew we had to scarf down our food quickly because they closed soon. When they brought the paninis out, they were burnt so badly that literally all we tasted was burnt bread. You literally heard a loud "crunch" everytime we took a bite. We were going to ask for them to remake them, but we knew they were closing soon, and we expected that if we did that- they would take forever again, or get so annoyed with us that they would make it horribly or spit in it or something. The best part of our meal were the chips that came with the food. If you want super slow service and burnt paninis, you may like it. Super cute atmosphere , but unfortunately - that is...
Read moreOur paninis were wonderful! My Italian rosemary ham with house made honey mustard had the best tasting tomato slices for this time of year. My husband had his chicken pesto with gluten free bread which is not always a ready choice. The house made pesto and fresh mozzarella were delicious adds to the generous chicken base. Included with the paninis were the perfect fresh arugula side salads in little lidded white paper cups. We love your signature black paper boxes - a much appreciated touch! For dessert, we had gluten free olive oil orange cake and Limoncello custard. Again, absolutely delicious and not typically available. A perfect quick takeout, ordered online and enjoyed overlooking downtown! SO inexpensive for the quality. I have to mention all the fresh and packaged items available in their Italian Market - so diverse and authentic. I love that you can get their famous subs right beside Italian pastries and fancy coffees. Bonfatto's is worth the short drive to...
Read moreWe were told after we ordered shortly after 1pm that they were closing at 2, and would have to have "to go" boxes, not a problem as we wanted to eat outside anyway. They took the seat cushions out from under us at 1.15, found this very rude. Waited a long time for the ladies bathroom and when the girl opened the door and didn't come out I peeked in and the girl said she was cleaning but she was on her phone. The food was good but my daughters said the end of her sandwich tasted weird, I tried it and it tasted like cleaning fluid. I think the staff were in a big hurry to clean and get out of there and didn't care about actual customer service. I went in and told them and the same girl that was in the bathroom asked what I wanted to do about it with an attitude. Very Rude, I will not return. Shame, as apart from the sandwich being in contact with disinfectant the other food was very good. Owners should be there to oversee how it...
