I was in bellefonte just walking around and came across this store next to a fleamarket. I walk in and meet this Guy name Tom. He knew a lot about guns and ammo and had walls full of new and used guns. Stuff from WWII even. He told me he could get me what ever gun i wanted if he didn't have it in store he could get it. and Beat anyone's prices. I said OK and put him to the test. He is great and helpful and when i wasn't sure about a gun i was interested in he gave me the Pros and cons and helped me pick something i really like. After buying my first gun from him Me. being someone who likes good customer service I started telling my friends and family about his store. I believe 3 of my friends got their guns from him. My sister in law wanted a 9mm over a 380. Tom showed her some subcompacts and worked with her to make sure she could even chamber it right He found the perfect pistol for her which she loves to this day and she got a 9mm over my suggestion of a smaller 380 but she feels safe now. My other friends also got good guns there and ammo when no one else had it during covid. He will be helping me get a reload set by Christmas I told him and even though I told him I am not buying anymore guns. I picked up my 5th gun from him Yesterday. LOL And again i did my research and he helped me find a excellent shotgun even better then I expected and again He was willing to beat anyone else price for that gun. So I have bought 5 guns from this guy. ha ha And learned as he prepares for some show that he also has way more then just guns. he has tools and lots of other stuff he sells that was not in the store. he has excellent collectable guns and stuff also. I was there one day when a guy came in looking for a bayonet for a M1 WWII 30-06 rifle. To his surprise and mine. Tom had what he wanted. I brought a friend in who needed a holster for his new Sig. Tom had it. ha ha And again if he doesn't have it I bet he can get it for you . So I would strongly suggest you go check him out. if you are in the area. or just visit the website or give him a call. You won't be...
Read moreWhen I decided to purchase a second handgun, I wanted to keep it simple. I went with the same model I already owned because I knew how to handle it and felt confident using it. This time, I decided to order online, and within just a few days, my purchase was ready for pickup.
It was my first time visiting Hunters Warehouse, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect. From the moment I walked in, Tom made the experience feel completely different from any other. He didn’t just hand me my purchase and send me on my way—he took the time to talk with me, make sure I understood all my options, and even shared recommendations for future purchases. What impressed me the most was how patient and knowledgeable he was. No matter how many questions I asked, he had an answer or a suggestion, and I never once felt rushed or pressured to make a decision.
Tom made me feel like more than just another customer. He really listened to what I wanted and made sure I left completely comfortable and confident in my choice. He also took the extra step of showing me how to check for rebates on my purchase and explained the lifetime warranty that came with it. Those small details meant a lot because they showed he genuinely cared about making sure I got the most out of my experience.
When I compare this to my first handgun purchase from another local shop that has since gone out of business, the difference is night and day. That experience felt rushed—like I was being pushed to hurry up and buy something. I also ended up paying more for the exact same model. Hunters Warehouse, on the other hand, offered a better price, better service, and an experience that felt personal and thoughtful.
I truly appreciate the time and care Tom put into making this such a positive experience for me. I never felt like I was just making a transaction. Instead, I left feeling like I’d gained a trusted resource I can rely on for future purchases.
The exemplary service at Hunters Warehouse is why I believe it’s so important to support local businesses. Thank you, Tom, for your patience, knowledge, and for treating me like family. I’m already looking forward to...
Read moreAmazing selection of ammo, but be prepared to pay top dollar. The owner (at least I assume he was the owner) is a real salesman. As soon as he noticed that I was looking at ammo, he started talking to me about the ammo shortage and telling me a story about how there will be no more ammo produced for 6 months and that all ammo production was going to the military. I may not be a gun expert, but I know enough to know that only certain manufacturers have military contracts, so I knew his story was complete BS. I guess he thought that I was desperate for ammo because he was obviously trying to create a sense of panic buying in me. He doesn't have pricing listed for any of his ammo and gives it to you off the top of his head. Based on a conversation I overheard with another customer, the pricing changes depending on when you come in and possibly depending on who you are. As I said, he must have thought that I was desperate because the price he quoted me for practice ammo was more than the going price of self defense ammo in other places (even given the times). What's worse is that his price increased the more you buy. So the 2nd box cost $5 more than the first, the 3rd box cost $10 more than the first, and so on. I left without buying anything and didn't stay long enough to really get a sense of his gun prices, but I'd never go there...
