I've honestly never been a huge fan of Hofbrau pizza, but my friend invited me to have a gathering with other friends to go out to eat here, and I thought it was a good idea. Note: Friends and I are in the college age group. It started out perfectly fine, we had drinks, breadsticks, and ordered our food. However, right as our food was about to come out, the restaurant owner (who was waiting our table) singled out one of the friends and basically said that they're a failure, never going to get further in life, and are a dishonor to their friends and family. I was completely shocked, it seemed so unprofessional and it came out of nowhere. I'd understand if we were being loud and obnoxious, but they could have present themselves a bit more professionally, and there was barely anyone in the restaurant. The only reason I can understand their act is because the one friend they singled out had a shirt with rainbows on it, and is in fact gay. If the manager were homophobic, that's fine, but mixing their views with how they treat /business/ is NOT professional. I'm never going back, and I've told other friends and family about this incident. They, too, are never giving them...
Read moreI've been going here all of my life. Admittedly some very good pizza. But, unfortunately, my last experience was so bad they've officially lost myself, my family and all family friends as customers. We went on a Sunday evening, we were the only booth there aside from one other group a couple tables away. We weren't being very loud or offensive, but something made our waiter, whom we can assume was the manager, come over to my table and single out my friend. He asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up and then said he was embarrassing himself, his friends, and his family. The only thing that would make my friend stand out was the fact that he was gay and we were talking about it as a joke. My friend was also wearing a rainbow shirt. Now, I can get over your homophobia because, hey, it's Bellefonte. But I can't get over the complete unprofessionalism. As a small town business, it only makes sense to get over it and give decent service to a paying customer. Never going back. (Also their breadsticks...
Read moreThis resturant is deceptive. On the outside, it doesn’t look like anything special. In fact, we entered thinking we may have to turn around and leave, but instead was pleasantly surprised at how crowded it was with really cool booths and decorations giving it a homy and comfortable feeling. The smells coming from the kitchen said “authentic” cooking to us as we were greeted with “sit wherever you want to”. We grabbed a circular booth which allowed us to sit close to each other. The waitress was so very nice and enthusiastic. She was able to describe all the fine details about what was good. If you like wings, you’re at the right place and the pizza was flavored with a delicious crust cooked perfectly. I can say it was some of the best pizza we have ever had. I suggest not to miss this gem! We took left overs and had it for lunch the next day. It was so much food. You will be happy like we were when you leave. I gave a 25% tip which tells you how much...
