Hootinanny Dive Bar Extraordinairr — Restaurant in Bellefonte

If I could give negative stars to this dive bar, I would. Not only did the atmosphere stink of male hostility, but the bartenders/owners immediately refused to serve one of our party members with no substantial reason. The disrespect I and my friends experienced in this bar is beyond acceptable. When questioned about the validity of the owners claim that my friend was "inebriated" the owner flew up his hands in a flustered manner and insisted that "it is not up for debate" In fact, it was up for debate, my friend was COMPLETELY SOBER and had a calm demeanor from the moment we walked into the bar. I will never be supporting this establishment again, and strongly encourage you to not either. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in Hootinanny Dive Bar- it was neither a hoot or a nanny or a dive or even a bar (since we could not even be served). This act of disrespect was clearly targeted at my friend unrightfully and owners that refuse business to such lovely people should not be in ownership of a bar. The creation of bars and pubs should be to bring people together, not project clear discrimination towards the only women in the bar that were not shaking their butts for all of the men to see. If the owner is reading this, I encourage you to reflect on your actions on the night of March 29th, 2025 and think about the headspace you were in to intentionally cause distress to willing patrons. This bar was wack, with an openly hostile attitude toward anyone who wasn't an overweight bearded white man and the bartenders and owner were just bad vibes. They told my sober friend who lives in Bellefonte that she was too drunk to be served and then kicked her out for the same reason after she bought several drinks and tipped the server. Not just a dive an open sewer dive. Cheap beer is the one and only good thing here. The bartender is blatantly on drugs and too busy talking to her friends or dealers to bother serving customers.
