Jesse's Soul Cafe — Restaurant in Belleville

My first time eating here, I'm looking at the menu on the wall and meals are $23.99 meat and 2 sides. I ordered chitterlings for my hubby who loves chitterlings and 2 sides not $23.99, but $26.99. Im sitting there waiting on food and notice things, there are pans on warmers sitting out on the dining area uncovered and plenty of flies swarming. There is a gentleman fixing plates and he is not wearing gloves, taking dressing that is uncovered from the warmer where flies are landing. A female comes inside walks to the back and is filling orders,not wearing a apron and no gloves. My hubby eating his chitterlings and mentions they taste funny,I taste them and they are not cleaned and has a dirty chitterlings smell. The chitterlings had not been cleaned...

This place is severely unprofessional. I called in to place a carry out order. First off you can barely hear them on the phone then when I was ready to give her my carry out order she placed me on hold for more than five minutes. I could hear them in the background and I kept saying hello but no one answered the phone. When I hung up and tried to call them back it said that their voicemail box was full I tried to call them back several times and no one answered the phone. They are just getting started out in already they are having these type of customer service issues this is severely unacceptable. I personally will never be going back there or calling in to place an order with them ever again. I suggest you all...

I really hate to have to do this review but I have to because this was not expectable! The food here use to be to die for now they using to much sugar and cheese also leaving the hard parts on my cabbage and greens. Not to mention I called my order in before I left home a hour early and when I got there I still had to wait 45 minutes. 1hr 45mins Now if they had to cook everything fresh I’ll understand, but the side dishes be sitting there on the roll away kitchen all they have to do is put it on the plate. And they move veryyyyy slow, I mean no speed. If they want to stick around they better pick up the speed, or for theses prices people will just cook at home or someone else will soon...
