This was our first visit to Abelardo's Mexican Fresh in Twin Creek, right off of Highway 370 and S. 36th St. in Bellevue, Nebraska. We were excited to see that they stay open till midnight. Right now, finding a place that you can go in and sit down to eat after about 9 PM is very difficult... Nobody wants to come in at 9:30 when the place closes at 10 PM. It is a takeout place, so you get served in Styrofoam containers and have plastic utensils. You pour your own drink, can get some chips and salsa or guac while you wait for your number to be called. You sit where you want and the tables and chairs, along with the booths, our new and very nice. The place was clean and they also have a drive-through.
Anyway, we took our time and looked at the menu board to make our decision. The lady that took our order was very patient and professional. I ordered a number 3 with no refried beans and double rice and no lettuce on my ground beef enchiladas. I also ordered a side of sour cream. The ground beef was seasoned inside of my enchiladas, the rice is amazing. I loved my meal! My husband ordered the number 23 which is the mixed fajitas. It comes with steak, chicken and shrimp, and he got double rice, and no refried beans. The portion size on the mixed fajitas was enormous! I tried a bite of the chicken from his meal and it was seasoned so nicely and the chicken was soft and tender. I'm not a fan of shrimp or steak, so I did not try that. My husband loved it and devoured the whole plate. He received a giant burrito wrapper and made a huge fajita burrito. He loved his meal as well!
We ordered a side of fries and also an à la cart tamale to try. I am not a fan of their fries. Although they came hot, there's absolutely no seasoning and just bland. The tamale was OK. Too spicy for me but my son and my husband loved it.
Finally, we ordered the ham omelette, breakfast plate to go. The omelette is enormous. I will update this when I hear from my roommate tomorrow, as this was his meal.
We definitely give it two thumbs up and we will be back. We love that it's close to home and we can go through the drive-through and that we can get food after 9:30 - 10 PM. There are so many nights that we finish work late or my son has a school function we need to attend and we eat after the function... So this is a...
Read more2022 Cut backs; we're all adjusting so their Bellevue location opens (temporarily but don't ask for clarification) 2 hrs later on Sundays. Compare their portion size of the #7 Two Chicken burrito meal - next time I'll order the same beef burrito to show their other cut backs.
On the positive note, it's still delicious but just don't have enough for tomorrow's breakfast!
UPDATE: Abelardo's Mexican Fresh BELLEVUE - location, location, location! While we see many different locations, the operate independently so redeeming your "free Burrito" depends on which one filled your punch ticket! Sad way to find out. Disappointment drops diners' rating.
The Bellevue LOCATION honors front line responders, police, firefighters, healthcare workers, and military ... day of the week depending. Their notice is on the payment window and not their drive up menu/speaker - let 'em know when you're ordering.
"Abelardo's Mexican Restaurant would like to express our gratitude to all Covid-19 front line responders, police, firefighters, healthcare workers and military who are working tirelessly to keep us safe. We thank you for all of your effort and dedication, serving our community. We would like to show our appreciation by offering a 50% discount on all meals beginning April 10, 2020 till May 10, 2020. THIS IS VALID ONLY AT BELLEVUE LOCATION."
Not a fast-food chain, but a great value still. They're lighter on the rice and beans, but it starts with a 14" tortilla, and nearly a pond of your protein choice (over 14 oz) in their #7 double burrito combo...
Read moreJust very upset and frustrated with this locations quality of food and customer service. I live closest to this location and still try it occasionally to see if they have gotten their act together and am consistently disappointed about once a month. I love abelardos and have been a loving customer of their delicious food for years but will never come back to this location again. The workers clearly hate their jobs and just don’t care about the customers experience and quality of food. Only once have I been there when a manager (or owner of the chains was present) the food was amazing that day and customer service was 5/5. I don’t intended for her to constant have to babysit them but honestly if your reading this go through the drive through unannounced and try the food they are serving and the customer service you receive. And make sure to ask for extra sauce every time you go and even offer to pay extra and get 1green and 1 red still. Meat was dry taco shells over cooked and dry and half the protein you receive at any other location. I won’t be back to this one but sure won’t stop me from going to your other locations. Your food is amazing just wish they cared as much at this location as they...
