Overall rating: 4.5 / 5 Tasty Sichuan / Hunan food with some dishes I have not seen at other restaurants in the area. Parking can be a little tight in front of the restaurant, but there is another lot in the back.
Really liked: 清江鱼 Grilled Clear River Fish — Ordered in the Spicy Sichuan Style / Medium Spicy / Moderate Numbness and quite enjoyed it. There is a different Grilled Fish with Garlic Sauce that I would like to try next time. 小炒黄牛肉 Pickled Pepper Beef Cilantro — Beef is soft, great for people who love cilantro. 辣子鸡翅 Spicy Chicken Wings — Always love a 辣子鸡 with whole wings instead of boneless.
Pretty good: 干锅千页豆腐 Dry Pot Tofu Sheets — Recommended dish, thought it was interesting but not necessarily something I would regularly order. The tofu is not really in sheets like 腐竹, more the texture of fish tofu. 蒜蓉大豆苗 Soybean Sprout 擂椒茄子皮蛋 Smashed Eggplant & Century Egg with Chili — Tasty enough, but would prefer if the century egg was not cold.
Would probably not reorder: 干锅菌王 Dry Pot Wild Mushroom Medley — Also recommended, but the mushrooms texture can be inconsistent, sometimes fine and sometimes dry / hard. 牛肉炒饭 Beef Fried Rice 担担面 Dan Dan Noodle — Noodle texture was too...
Read moreWe made a reservation for 6 people, and was given a table with only 4 chairs. Had to flag down a server ourselves to get the additional 2 chairs added while standing in the middle of the restaurant for around 5 mins and no one bothered to come check on us. The most absurd thing happened after we paid, a waiter was single handedly taking plates off the table and splattered oil everywhere on my husband’s jacket and pants. She looked down and walked away without any apologies. We reflected this to another waiter and was rudely asked “what do you guys want then” multiple time, trying to make it sound like we were being unreasonable. And a third waiter then came up and said you can buy some cleaning products on your own and wash it off, with no attempt to acknowledge their fault. To be fair, the food was acceptable and expensive, but the service was the worst I’ve seen in a long time. With 18% mandatory service fee and no service at all, I’d...
Read moreWow, i work right across the street and we all have been waiting for a long time for this place to open. Definitely worth the wait. No menu online which is a bit of an inconvenience for working people who like to order out but going across the street to look at the menu was definitely worth it. I ordered the beef fired noodles and man, picky eater that i am i must say the BEST darn tasting food I’ve had in a while when it comes to Chinese food. The beef was seasoned so well and even though i don’t like eggs in my food, even the eggs tasted awesome. Price was a little over $15 for a huge dish that will last me two lunches at work. The ladies at the front/servers are all so friendly and sweet. Loved my first time...
