Update: their teriyaki is awesome! It looks and tastes like it was marinated first. When I mean marinated I mean more than just a few minutes. It tastes like the sauce really soaked in good. Normally I don't find this kind of teriyaki. This is Good teriyaki. I can mark off a few restaurants now as no go and replace them w/ Hong Noodle. Good menu choice! Keep on cookin!
I stand corrected, your explanation makes perfect sense now. Review edited. I came here for their "pork cutlet". I can think of maybe 5 places that offer a pork cutlet but for various reasons I only come here for it. It's that good. The shredded cabbage garnish is great. The rice is perfect. If you really like rice and you're picky about it- their rice is ideal. I bet staff was wondering why I wanted soup broth when I didn't order soup, and forgot my sauce. This is quite normal when a person's routine is disrupted. They also gave me a hint ("Just broth?") and of course I didn't pick up on it. I owe you a bigger tip for trying to warn me, I'm sorry if I caused any frustration. original: Why 4[stars]? Why not 5? I'm here for your success. Not to complain. Explain to your staff what "tonkatsu" means (ton + katsu: pork cutlet [deepfried]). Demonstrate how to make "miso soup". I should have known when they said "just broth?" When packaging tonkatsu, make sure they add the sauce. Not everyone has tonaktsu sauce at home or can easily make it. I will amend this when on my next visit. Other than that , the food was...

Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I went on Saturday (September 26) and bitterly regretted it. The food was a total disaster: drenched in grease, poorly prepared, with a rancid taste. Pork was so much cooked fat that it was more meat than meat. I ordered a dish called chinchi pandle—the meat was spoiled, either the restaurant owner uses donated meat or gets garbage from downtown Seattle. The tofu was hard and dry, clearly frozen for months. The result? I spent the entire Sunday (September 27) with a stomachache and diarrhea. I had to cancel appointments scheduled weeks ago.
The place is filthy; it seemed like no one cleaned. The bathroom smelled like sewage and was disgusting.
And the atmosphere? Even worse. They played reggaeton at full volume through a cheap speaker, distorting and giving everyone a headache. I politely asked to lower the volume and was completely ignored. Instead of a restaurant, it felt like I was trapped in a low-rent nightclub.
I left with an earache, a stomachache, and the certainty that this place is a trap for anyone who loves good food. 👉 Terrible food, terrible atmosphere, terrible service. 👉 I'll never go back and wouldn't recommend it to my...
Read moreI'm glad this place has opened, I wish it the best. That being said, I tried it for dinner and found it to be pretty okay. I got some gyoza ramen, and it was a little greasy, but the soup was strong and flavorful. The given menu isn't that expansive, but they've got some of basics available (tonkatsu ramen, karaage, etc.).
Recommendation: just order your own bowl combination (like you would at Subway).
Pros: price is okay, space is plentiful (though some people seemed confused where the line began, so they just stood in a massive cloud by the front), staff are nice and helpful, everything is clean
Cons: I find the menu confusing and inconsistent, there aren't any categories. Also, they don't offer any fresh sides or appetizers. The ramen was a little heavy, so I wanted a salad or a cold appetizer, but they didn't have any.
Side note, I don't understand all the reviews complaining about the cold? It's a corner restaurant with windows and it's still wintertime, yes it's going to be cold,...
