Five stars because I want them to succeed and I know they’re trying hard. Have already shopped there, had my dogs nails clipped there, had some problems with booking online and sent that feedback on as well. Everyone is friendly and accommodating.
I’m a bit worried that the current groom quality might give new customers a negative impression.
I booked a bath and groom, I was very flexible on the groom style, just a medium clip, and short clip on the paws. (“Paws like a poodles?” “Yes please”). Groomer offered nail buffing, ear plucking and teeth brushing and I said yes. Said they were running behind schedule, no worries mate take your time, I live 5 minutes away.
Picked him up 4 hours later: Paws were not short, as requested rear hygiene clip was the largest I’ve seen razor burn/heat rash on both sides of the rear wax and knots still in the ear hang nails left hair missed
I was a dog groomer who used to run a pet store in Australia. I have a lot of time for my fellow groomers, especially when you’re first starting out. I was impressed Pet Supplies Plus was able to find groomers in this economy and I really want to support this store. However this groom is similar to a very novice groomer and if other customers are experiencing this you’ll need to know asap.
There’s a great demand for grooming at the moment so I don’t doubt your ability to get short term business but you’re working so hard to make a great impression everywhere else it would be a shame for this to be what let’s you down! Particularly if you want to justify charging more than the competitor across the road and keep loyal clients, the grooms really need to be at least if similar quality, and not - as was unfortunately my case - noticeably worse.
Edited to three stars as apparently they don't care about feedback as long as it's five stars. I never heard from anyone about this experience and have...
Read moreI really love this store and the wide variety of things they have, but there was an incident that I can't ignore, and it will affect my choice to return to this location.
I visited the store a few times and the staff has always been friendly, kind, and helpful. This was the case today, except for one employee. I visited with my friend and her dog. An employee approached and began snapping his fingers at the dog. Our dog is slightly fearful of men, so he started crouching down and moving back. The employee moved closer and told us he used to be a dog trainer and this is how you train. We've worked extensively with certified trainers, and his methods were nothing that we would be comfortable using with the dog. He stared down our dog and kneed him to get him to sit. He then told my friend to drop the leash on the ground so he could work with the dog and she didn't, so he took the leash from her hand. We took the leash back and said no thank you he is already being trained. Our dog was freaking out at this point and growling and barking at the man. He continued to do dominance stares at us as we tried to walk away quickly. He finally left the aisle so we could go back to get what we were trying to buy. He did not ask us if we wanted training advice and he did not take no for an answer. After the incident, our dog couldn't really calm down and was stressed and loud, so we quickly grabbed our stuff, checked out, and left.
It's unfortunate, but I no longer feel that any of my dogs, friends' dogs, or clients' dogs are welcome in the store. I will probably still go and stop in to get food from here, but it isn't very pet friendly with this employee...
Read moreThe prices are great, selection is fantastic and the rewards program is 2nd to none. Staff is friendly and helpful. I have friends that love it for the self service dog wash stations. The three stars from me is for two reasons. #1- location. Factoria is such a pain to get in and out of with traffic and construction. I have to force myself to go here. 2nd- My most frequent order is Freshpet Vital dog food. Several times my order has been cancelled because it's not really in stock and twice I have arrived to find it's frozen. The first time I didn't know better and brought it home. It changes the texture and my dogs don't want to eat it. $100+ of food that dogs don't want to consume is beyond frustrating. I sent an email and was told the shops are locally franchised and I would be contacted by the owner. Nothing. Never heard anything. Yesterday I tried to pick up again and again, food was frozen. I had the order cancelled, but to have fought traffic only to then have to go somewhere else to find what I need, frustrating. So if you don't mind the nightmare traffic of the location and your pet doesn't eat refrigerated food, this may be the pet store for you. For...
