A kitch-y little coffee spot in the strip mall sandwiched between the two car dealers Toyota and Subaru and a fun little spot to drop into. I am a sucker for this type of decor for coffee shops. Plenty of seating and staff was friendly. I got the white chocolate mocha, breakfast sandwich with bacon and light arugula, and the chocolate croissant.
Breakfast Sandwich: Light arugula is always the best choice in my opinion because otherwise I've noticed I'm eating an arugula sandwich! The cheese and egg were good, was just a bit too much garlic aioli -- probably more arugula would have helped haha. Bacon was fair also. I'll give it an 8/10.
White Chocolate Mocha: I forgot to ask for this iced because usually when I get coffee of any type it's scorching hot for my tongue and I gotta wait ages to drink it. Not the case here. Within a few minutes it was warm but not burning and it was very good! So great job on preparation! 8/10.
Chocolate croissant is not supposed to look like this as even stated by the staff, but I enjoyed that uniqueness, and it was properly "sauced" as in there was actually chocolate filling in there instead of air! Just wish the chocolate was a little less bitter and more sweeter, but I still enjoyed the texture, flakiness (that didn't explode all over the table and my clothes), and bite. I'll give this also an 8/10.
Overall, it's a pretty good spot stopping into if you're in the neighborhood and I'll definitely visit at least once every six months when I service my...
Read moreI might sound too sensitive, but I need to share my experience at this café today.
When I ordered my latte, one of the employees asked for my name. I said, “Candice.” Everything seemed normal until I picked up my coffee and heard them call out, “Ken.”
Yes, mistakes happen. English is not my first language, and I still have some lingering symptoms from a recent flu. Even if you speak perfect English, having a unique name can sometimes lead to misunderstandings—I get that.
What bothered me was the employee’s response when I showed slight discomfort by saying, “I’m not Ken…” Instead of apologizing, she casually said, “Oh, I sometimes write a short name for guests!” That wasn’t an apology—it felt more like a bad joke. It made me uncomfortable enough to leave instead of enjoying my coffee inside. (Should I have expressed my frustration instead of staying quiet? There were too many people in the café, though.)
To that woman, I’d like to say: Please be aware that misspelling someone’s name and joking about it can be offensive. You might think turning your mistake into a joke is harmless, but name jokes can be risky. Some people may take it as a sign of discrimination or an insult.
The coffee was good, which is why I’m writing this review. I just hope this doesn’t happen again...
Read moreI really hope this coffee shop sticks since there have been 2 other coffee shops before at this location that just didnt work out. I love what they've done to the place to make it more cozy with the fireplace and seating options. Love the clean asethic look and feel of the cafe. The place was super busy with work people and students and honestly hard to even find a spot to sit sometimes. The baristas were working hard but looked like they were understaffed with only 2 people and tons of customers. We weren't even acknowledged until after 10mins of waiting at the counter to order which I get they're a small business but still customer service is so important.
Anyways we ordered the matcha drink and a latte which were both delicious and came out in real cups which is awesome! I didnt see many food options for breakfast.
Lots of parking and convientely located next to the the huge Toyota dealership and a book store right...
