Bob's Burgers & Brew — Restaurant in Bellingham

Sunday we experienced the worst service here & of course on my birthday. When our food arrived our sides where on the wrong plates & my burger was not correct. My husband's cheese looked off on his sandwich and he asked the waitress if his cheese was truly pepper jack, as it looked a lot like Swiss. The waitress excused herself to speak to the cook. When she returned she stated it was infact the correct cheese. He then said that the cheese has the wrong look, that he sees no peppers and the melt seems off. The waitress stated " I don't know what to tell you!" This statement was made three separate times and in a tone that made us feel like she didn't care about the concerns and wanted to get on with her business. At this point he asked to speak to the cook. The cook was brought out, he was very nice, and stated that "due to the thin slice of the cheese it would have that look." He offered to bring a slice of the cheese out to show him but we accepted this and decided next time he would order the meal with double cheese due Before we left my husband politely the hostess know that if someone has an issue with their food she should have offered to bring out the cook, as the comment of I don't know what to tell you, makes a person feel as if you are telling them to to the quality of the cheese used.. We felt like the waitress was telling us to take a hike. We are regulars here & definitely experienced terrible service for lunch. This waitress was more interested in chatting with coworkers than providing customers service...

Bob's Burgers and Brew always delivers on delectably delicious, melt in your mouth, firing on all cylinders flavor! Along with exceptionally filling portions, you won't break your wallet and always well worth what you pay for. Perfection on a plate no matter what you order! My personal favorite burgers are the sweet and savory Hawaiian Burger and the rich and smokey Guacamole Bacon Burger. Jam packed full of juicy goodness, paired with a side of hot and delicious fries, wash it down with a cold and refreshing beer; I went with Blue Moon, your taste buds will thank you! 😋 I recently had the Steak Salad that was just to die for! Dangerously delicious with a generously portioned steak, cooked rare to melt in your mouth perfection! Paired with a tasteworthy raspberry vinaigrette and texas toast to soak up that sweet dressing. Definitely worth getting again! Almost everything on the menu is worth getting again and again! Home run every time! Bob's hits it out of the park with flavor! Everything on the menu is a Ball park win for the record books! 😁👏 Friendly and welcoming staff will make you feel right at home right as you walk in. Optional outdoor seating as well, for those sunny day Sunday brunches, or dinners, or just a drink with a friend... whatever the occasion, be sure to make it happen at Bob's Burgers and Brew! 5 stars hands down, two thumbs way...

Bob's used to be our go-to burger option. In the past couple of months, though, shrinkflation has hit them like a garbage truck at full speed.

The burgers are noticeably smaller (the menu still claims they're 6oz, which I highly doubt is still true) and the overall quality has dropped. That's not to say they're bad, they're just disappointing given the previous quality and the $20 price tag. Sides have gotten cheaper and more bland, and for some weird reason most of the burgers have havarti cheese in places where you'd normally use swiss and ends up tasting like nothing at all.

The worst offender has to be the service, though. The past few times we've gone there has been nobody up front to greet or seat us. And we don't show up when they're slammed; at best the place is half-full when we get there. There just doesn't seem to be more than one person working at a time (the bar is, of course, fully-staffed at all times, because this is still Bellingham). On our last visit, we had to wait twenty minutes for someone to notice and seat us, then another twenty minutes before they came back to take our order. We were in the middle of the "do we just leave?" conversation when the server remembered we were there.

Sad to say, but we've written off Bob's as an option...
