We ordered a chicken breast teriyaki and a spicy chicken teriyaki. The first time we picked it up and when we got home realized it was actually two regular chicken thigh teriyakis so we called them and went back to get our actual food. They made us give them the old ones which was fine but I thought it was weird. When we got home i realized they gave us a spicy chicken thigh and a normal chicken thigh. I called them again and they were closed so no dinner for me. I called them today to ask if we could get a refund since I had ordered a breast and got a thigh which I will not eat and the man told me they don't offer breasts (the woman last night confirmed I could get chicken breast and both times when we went she said "okay one spicy chicken, one chicken breast" so there was absolutely no way for us to know they don't offer breasts anymore after years of offering it) and he did not want to give me a refund unless I brought in the uneaten thigh meal which at this point I don't want to keep driving there as I have now spent money on gas and still not been able to eat any food!! He was also pretty rude and condescending on the phone when i pointed out this would be our third trip there over their mistake. Awful customer service. We have been going for years and will not...
Read moreI was excited to try this place because my college kid had been here several times and loved it for their good, cheap eats, friendly atmosphere, and food selection. Unfortunately, we did not have that experience today. Maybe it’s under new ownership with the same name? Anyway, it was disappointing. The place seemed clean enough and the cashier was friendly but the selection was greatly diminished. Only one vegetarian selection so I got the veggie yakisoba and my kid got the chicken yakisoba. Both were overly sweet and generally flavorless. So much cabbage and onions with a few bits of carrot, broccoli, and mushroom. Barely better than a cup of rehydrated noodles. It was a large portion for $14 (for what was probably $2 of ingredients). It’s only a few hours later and my stomach is wondering why I bothered with the place. My kid even said that the place smelled totally different than it used to, not in a good way. No ambience worth sticking around for. We were going to eat there but ended up leaving and walked a block to eat at a picnic table instead, which was the best part of our...
Read moreDon't mess around, just stick with the #1 (chicken teriyaki). The portion is huge, well seared on the grill, sauce is sticky and delicious, with a big mound of sticky rice, and salad. I tried the spicy chicken once and it was pretty tasty, but had weird red food coloring in the sauce (?) I've also tried the yakisoba and the tofu and vegetables, and again, they were OK but not the best I've had. The gyoza and the egg rolls are pretty good. I can't speak to the sushi as I don't go here for that. The "atmosphere" could be off-putting for some. Normally I wouldn't like it either, but I've tried the teriyaki chicken at numerous other places, and it doesn't even begin to measure up. So I keep going back for the teriyaki chicken and I just pretend I'm in Oakland. When the weather's nice we get it to go and sit at a picnic table down at Zuanich point park. Problem solved. There aren't too many places any more that you can get dinner for two for under 30 bucks, this one will feed you well...
