Mi Rancho Meat Market — Restaurant in Bellingham

Earlier in the year my husband and I tried out Mi Rancho Meat Market for lunch. This place is truly a hidden gem. Amongst other things, they sell $1 tacos and they are the absolute bomb! We came back again with our daughter recently. On our table we had tortilla chips, several meat tacos, a couple of Vegetarian tacos, a cheese quesadilla and a bottle of horchata.

Tortilla chips: Last time we came here they brought a complimentary basket of tortilla chips to our table, along with some salsa to dip it in. They were warm, crisp and sooooo good! We were given complimentary tortilla chips again, but this time the basket was already on our table when we sat down. Not so warm as last time, but still crispy and delicious; I really can't complain when it's free.

Tacos: My husband had the meat tacos, while our daughter and I shared a couple of Vegetarian tacos and a cheese quesadilla. Our daughter is still something of a picky eater, so I told her that if she wanted to order a cheese quesadilla (which is pretty much the only thing she ever orders when we eat Mexican food) then she would have to share the quesadilla with me and eat one of the Vegetarian tacos. Done deal, and she ended up loving the taco! They put these white beans into the tacos and I don't know what they do to those beans but they are pure bliss!

Cheese quesadilla: This is one of those dishes that's kinda hard to mess up. Basically a Mexican version of a grilled cheese sandwich. If you love cheese, then this dish is for you!  I have a much more diverse taste palate than my picky eater, but I do also love simple, tasty, ooey gooey cheese dishes. I was happy to be able to take part in eating the Cheese quesadilla!

Horchata: We just drank plain water last time, so this was our first time ordering drinks here. The drinks are kept in a small fridge, and it's a self-serve system. You just pick your drink from the fridge and the server will add it to the bill when they see which drinks you have on your table. I'd never had Horchata from a bottle before. In fact, I'd never even seen it in a bottle before. I used to think it was something that always had to be made on the spot at Mexican restaurants. Maybe I've been drinking bottled Horchata all along without even knowing it. I suppose it's always possible that they just pull out a bottle back in the kitchen and pour it into a glass with me being none the wiser for it! The Horchata was tasty as it always is. I havn't had an Horchata that I didn't like.

First and last time eating here.

My family came in yesterday at 5 for my brothers birthday. My mom had made a reservation TWO DAYS in advance as there were 5 of us and two kids.

When we came in, the staff told my mom they knew nothing about it, but they would find us a spot. We should have just left then as the following service was honestly the worst we've had in a long time.

I am an understanding person and realize that things happen, like being short staffed or having a bad day. However, being rude and treating your customers like a nuisance is not okay.

To the waiter who acted annoyed by us and immediately handed us our bill right after ordering, and the lady who gave us a hard time when my partner and I went to pay for our portion of the bill, (which should have been split in the first place) please do better.

Also, cleanliness of the restaurant and food quality was extremely questionable. This place must have gone down hill because I had heard such great things about it in the past.

Please save yourself the trouble and probably your health.

Hola!!To the manager and everyone, at Mi Rancho, My wife and i Love the mini Taco,s. so delicious. and for the price of $ 1.00 beef or pork,with a side of delicious beans and Tortilla chips and hot sauce. We order the Tamales From the meat market section like a month before Christmas, for these are popular at Christmas time,with our Family. and the Carne an sada, in the summertime for our family BBQ. Not this year though because of the covid 19. but you can order and pickup your orders also to keep on the safe side. My wife enoys shopping for numerous items in your grocery store area also and there baked goods are all made locally. Nice and friendly Manager and his wife and children, we watched his children grow up so quickly, Nice polite kids.And all the Employees are so friendly they hollar out Hola!! when my wife Nora and i walk in the Restaraunt area, Great place ,Great People, Great Prices. Yes 5 Big Stars . We suggest this Awesome , Mi Rancho Meat market/ grocery store/ Restaraunt. with flying colors. Yay!!! See Ya...
